This was a cute little m/m story. The love story was very adorable and the guys were sweet. I wish the panther thing was explained a little more, and that would have happened if it was a bit longer. I also wish that it was longer so that the relationship between Jeremy and Sam could have been explored a little more.
These were two parts that I liked:
I really liked the leer he sent my way even as he covered up the goods with those pants again. I turned around like I was looking for my shirt as I wiggled my ass into my jeans. He groaned. Yep, the straight guy was liking him some skinny boy butt.

As we rode off, I had a million questions filling my head about my new self, how many others there were, and what it all meant for our future together. I could wait, though, to ask and get answers. Loving my Jeremy was more important. I held him tighter and felt the rumble in his chest just before his hand gave mine a comforting squeeze. We were united, and that was all I needed.

Steamy doesn't begin to describe this short story about Sam and his mate Jeremy. From the first trickle of sweat make its way down Jeremy's leather-clad backside to the shifting that facilitates his claiming of Sam, this is one hot tail tale!

Sam has wanted Jeremy for a number of months, but never has he thought Jeremy would want him in return. He was most definitely wrong. In fact, the two men are meant to be together.
In the past year I have got more into erotica- reading and writing it. It's a great genre to explore and offers many flavours. One thing I never truly tried was same sex erotica, moreso male on male. So I decided to have a bite...
I'm glad I picked this story to start with. It was just right for my first experience with male/male action. It was adorable and very enjoyable. I will definitely be interested in reading more stories like this.
The were-pather aspect didn't exactly seem right, however. I think it would have been better without it, where Jeremy just wanted Sam for Sam and not because it was unconditional.
And of course, being a short, it all happened so fast. Would have loved it more if it had of been a bit longer.

4* for the free online version!
Ok, I just finished the 'new extended' version from Amber and I really liked it!
Missy Welsh has the inner voice of young, funny and self conscious guys down!
Sam was able to show more of himself and Jeremy is a real sweetheart. The paranormal aspects took a backseat in the story which was fine with me, there really isn't any angst or problems in this story to overcome, just a sweet mating!
This story had a similar feeling to My Summer of Wes, which is one of my all time feel good reads, so it left me with a happy smile.

Not bad for my first shifter story. The guy on the cover was totally hot and one I could totally imagine in this story. The only thing I didn't quite get: . Oh well. It was a cute and sweet story as it was. Would have liked a little more to see Sam become more comfortable with himself and his transition.

I pretty much read this short based on the cover alone because...whoa. The short itself was....well, it was short. Was I entertained during those 10 pages or so. I would say yes. However, the fact that the only actual sex was performed in panther form? Notsomuch. I do appreciate authors who give us free downloads. Thank you for that. I just wish it were longer.

Overall
A cute little (free) story that involves a young man who stutters and has a crush on his (straight) boss. Although the plot line may not be anything new, I really liked Sam and the author's use of stuttering to show Sam's emotional status. Both the characters are highly enjoyable and the interaction between the two is heart warming. A good stand alone story that may fall into a lot of tropes but the story's enjoyment overpowers any of that. Definitely worth a read, especially if you want an upper.

The whole panther shifter-thing seemed kind of out of the blue but this was a short story and without the shifting there wouldn't have been any thing to read so I consider it a great read especially considering it is a free read. Gave it four stars only because I would have prefer the MCs got together for a reason other than they are both panthers and mates and so that is why they are attracted and in love with each other.

I never read What when it was still a free short story on Missy Welsh's web site, but I suspect that it worked better at its original length. This greatly expanded, novella-length edition is a bit of a mess. What little conflict exists in this story resolves fairly quickly, and is then followed by approximately 40 pages of sex and fluff. Mostly sex.
The paranormal worldbuilding, such as it is, makes no sense.
This novella also needs a better editor. A few passages are so repetitive that I can only assume Ms. Welsh never even reread them after writing them.
I didn't hate this novella. It has some cute and hot moments, especially at the beginning. It just doesn't have enough story to justify its length, and what story there is often doesn't make sense. If What was still being offered as a freebie its flaws wouldn't matter as much, but it needs more plot and better editing to be worth its current price point.

This is a rather erotic short story about shifters. Totally was not expecting it. Hopefully there will be more stories for Jeremy and Sam and this world as this is really a teaser.

It was a cute, short little story. Gotta love leather pants! The characters (Jeremy and Sam) are panther-shifters and I loved their story. They would make a great full-length book. Great read, I want more!
