A thorough history of the 2d Amored Division during World War II. Houston covers the early days of the Division's formation to their training. Then, the narrative picks up with 2d Armor battling in North Africa, Sicily, and Western Europe. I found this difficult to read at times, leaving me to wonder how the audience for this book was? Was it meant for the Army's Command College students or for the armchair historian?

Interesting book, certainly learned a lot about how a U.S. armored division functioned during WW2.
