This story revolves around a boy named Dawson who suddenly and tragically loses his parents. This is also a book about a home that has 4 foster kids that have been brought into a house by a Nurse and a Police Officer that saves them from going to a boys home. They all have a love for music and start a band that play in their garage. It also tells a story of how a girl named Grace comes into their family and her involvement in helping their band.
This book tells of the ups and downs of school life which gives this a great storyline. The characters are well developed and you cannot help but fall in love with them. By the time I was done reading this book I had been wanting to know more about how this band works out. Which we will find out in a future book that I personally cannot wait to read.

*** 5 Amazing Stars ***

This is a prequel novella for the next book *Saving Dawson*

OMG.... This story just gripped me from the start, I had a lump in my throat when we discover what happened to Dawson's parents, they always have a date night once a month while Dawson stayed at home...

I absolutely love Sarah & Grady O'Neill.... Couldn't ask for a better foster parents...

Dawson a 14 year old with no family whatsoever, Sarah couldn't let the old bat take him to that awful place till he's placed in with a foster family, Sarah & Grady have already fostered 3 boys...

Colt, Rico and Eli who becomes Dawson's bros... I loved this amazing bittersweet story...I'm gonna stop here as I'm not the kind to give spoilers..

But let me tell you this.... I CANT wait for Saving Dawson!!!

Thanks Colbie for this amazing novella, it's was beautifully written.

Very good read. I really wanted it to be longer! Saving grace has sorrow, pain, love and unanswered questions. I can't wait for Saving Dawson! The story at first seems to be mainly about Dawson and his tragedy, but then we meet Grace. Grace has suffered horribly and bears many scars both seen and unseen. Dawson and Grace fall in love and Dawson is very protective of her. The story takes place during high school and after they graduate. Dawson and his foster brothers are also a band. They are dedicated to their music. I really felt that the relationships between Dawson and his foster family could have been more developed. Given the seriousness of what grace suffered there should have been more about what was done to help her to heal. When the book ends there are a lot of unanswered questions. I really hope the next book Saving Dawson answers all of my questions.

ARC received for an honest review

I don't want to spoil the story too much.

This is a prequel book so it sets the scene for the next book Saving Dawson.

This story centres on a Boy called Dawson from his mid teen years to early adulthood and the relationships that he has with his family and Grace.

It starts as a sweet love story but there is a twist which if you want to know what it is you will need to read the book.

the twist felt out of character but sometimes people change so it is not a stretch for this to happen.

"the parents" characters were well written and the interaction between the boys was good with all the ribbing etc.

It is a very sweet love story with a twist but essentially a story about love within a family whether this is your blood family or not.

This novella was a fabulous start to what I can only imagine as being a great novel with Saving Dawson. It gives you enough of an insight into how Dawson and Grace came to be and their background. It does leave you with some unanswered questions but concludes very well and I suspect most of those questions, if not all, will be answered in the next installment(s). I'm really looking forward to Saving Dawson. The story was well written and I connected with the characters immediately. I also hope to get more of Colt, Eli, and Rico and their stories as well in the future. Amazing job! Highly recommend this one.

**I received a copy of the book, from the author, in exchange for a honest review.**

Saving Grace is a fast paced read. It is a novella that explains Dawson's life that leads up to his music career. The book starts off very sad. Dawson has just lost his parents and is forced into foster care. Thanks to a kind nurse, Dawson is put into a good home instead of a group home. The book speeds through the years and and introduces us to Grace. Grace becomes the love of Dawson's life. As time progresses, you see their love grow. The author puts a little twist on this book and sets you up well for the next book. This book was well written and is exactly what a prequel should be.

Saving Grace starts as a beautiful love story of two people who go through so much pain. But somehow they are able to find happiness with each other. Dawson is the perfect hero, he protects and watches out over Grace. He will have you wishing he was your protector. But unfortunately, a shocking twist that you won't see coming will have you crying for the hero and wanting to know how it all ends in Saving Dawson. Another fabulous book from Colbie Kay. She is a great new author who knows how to draw you in. Highly recommend Saving Grace.

My Review:

If you have read author Colbie Kay's book Quiet Country that was Bear and Jacey's story than you'll quickly realize that you meet Dawson at the end of the book. In this book we get to know Dawson and go on an emotional roller-coaster. This book gripped my attention from the beginning and held it till the end.

I loved Dawson from the beginning and my heart broke for him through most of the story. After losing his parents Dawson finds a couple who takes him in. And finds what he wants to do with his life.

I would love to say I loved Grace. And I did for most of the story I did and I even really felt for her, for everything she had gone through. But by the end, I wasn't her biggest fan.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more from this series. I'm giving this book 4.5 stars out of 5!!!!!

Received a copy for an honest review! Dawson is a young man that had his world turned upside down on one fateful night. He had to move forward. He found a new family. Dawson is a talented young man and with his talents he was able to start down a new road. Grace is a young lady that was surviving a horrible situation. A high school romance and a music career in the beginning. I like how the story travels over time for the characters. You are able to go through the emotions and time progress. This book is full of ups and downs and I look forward to more. What happens when feelings change and time passes? Is there a surprise for Dawson, if so what will it be? Get ready to fall hard for Dawson. It is a ride that will have some curves and it will make you want to take the ride again.

*** review may contain spoilers ***

I loved this book. I really enjoyed reading Saving Grace it was a quick read one to remember for a long time. I loved the characters in this book especially Dawson and how much he has changed. In Saving Grace it tells the story of a young man who lost his parents and gained a new family in returned. A nurse and a sheriff takes in Dawson as an adopted son just like the other three boys that live with them. They find out Dawson likes to play the guitar and then the boys and him form a band together. It also brings friends together while living together as a family and meets a girl named Grace who also become great friends with the entire band.

This was a fantastic prequel novel totally worth the time and worthy to read.

Arc received via author for an honest review.

I love this author and all her works. I have followed her since reading her first book City Lights A Satan Sinners book.

Colbie Kay has a way with her words and boy did this story pack a punch.

I loved meeting Dawson and Grace. But that ending lady nearly killed me. I so want to give Dawson a big hug. I felt his pain when his world got turned upside down not just the first time but also when his world got knocked of it axes again.

I received an ARC from Colbie and this novella was in it. It was nice to read about the early part of Dawson's life to lead up to events that went on in the main story. It gave me more understanding to why he acted the way he did.

2.5 stars. The dialogue was super stiff. It's too hard to get into a book when the words come across like that. I did like the where this story was going but... I think I'm done with this series.

It was a great read. It gives you the background story to Saving Dalson but if you read Saving Dalson you don't need this book because it is in Saving Dalson. Rated very good
