Three very different young women....one Amish Family.
Emma, the middle sister of three Amish girls, is having doubts about her life, faith and love. Her elder sister, Sarah, is married and about ready to give birth, whilst her younger sister, Martha, is almost sixteen and full of life. Emma, isn't sure where she fits in and how she really feels about Eli.
When Emma meets a tall, handsome Englischer her doubts about her Amish way of life increase....and she isn't the only one.
I didn't dislike the book, I actually liked the stories. None of the stories seemed complete. It didn't feel like eight books but eight parts to a story that never went anywhere. The end was probably the most complete part of the story but that still seemed off.
For me it was less like eight books and more of an outline to eight future books. I don't know that enough was included for me to interest me in buying the further development of the stories if there is one.
I enjoyed the story line although more details could have been given to make it longer. The advertising for eight books in a collection lead me to believe that it would last awhile, instead chapters ended oddly as well as the books. The whole story was enough for one book not 8.
As I was reading this series, I thought it didn't download right. But this must be short stories. Either way, it was pretty good. There were many avenues this series could have taken but I almost feel that Martha's situations weren't explained that well. Other than that it was pretty good.
This was a well written book. I love the bible verses before each chapter. I like the way the family handled each situation. It shows how a family can overcome all problems with Love and prayers
Each chapter is only a few pages long and separated like each chapter was a different book. A little confusing at first but once I determined I would get to read more of the story, it was okay and you get used to the divisions.
I have read a lot of books about the Amish & I have enjoyed all of them. This set of books is no exception. The books are interesting. I read all of these books in one day. I recommend that you should read them as you will enjoy them.
Tears of joy and tears of sorrow, as I read Amish Doubt. The story of Anna tugged at my heart strings. Her doubts fueled the beginning of her story, but she found strength in her convictions to see her through her trials.
I always enjoy a book with good clean entertainment. Very straightforward. It speaks to the good of people while revealing the not so good aspects of human nature.
Like the simple things that are just so different from what we do now and thinking we should get back to the simple basics of living life and getting along with our family and neighbors
