Ok Read
I really was not too impressed with this book. Lucinda has written way better material before than this book. It seemed like it was rushed and was just put together. My biggest complaint was the editing issues. It's like an editor didn't even touch the book. It was very frustrating having to re-read sentences throughout the book. On the other hand, Geek was a fool and CheChe was young and naive and he took advantage of that. Elaine got what she deserved and Eyanna will hopefully be next. It was nice to see an old character appear at the end.

BANGER
This book had me in my feelings. I felt so sorry for Karraeuche she endured so much from her step mom but through it all she remained humble and still managed to keep her head up. Then here comes Geek who had me feeling like all her problems were over boy was i wrong. I don't want to give out any spoilers so I will say well done can't wait for part 2. I hope Tika is ok too.

This was a very good book! Lucinda John never disappoints! I'm hoping Che-Che get it together and leave that low down Geek alone!!! He's doing her just as bad as her stepmother did her! Goodness!!! Book 2 hurry up!!!!!!!

Pretty good book. I thought Geek was going to be a good guy but he was the total opposite. He had a lot of secrets and had the nerve to be abusive. CheChe is a good girl I hope she finds real love in part 2.

Wow!
I couldn't put this down. Poor Che-Che how much more can that poor child take? Geek was a selfish person hopefully he will get it together. Maybe Shantika and Tommy will get their stuff together. That step sister I hope she dies a slow death. Good book can't wait for part 2.

i had a feeling that Kuarache’s stepmother had something to do with her father getting killed. from the beginning her and Eyanna’s vibes were off. you can tell by the way they reacted to the things Karl did for his daughter. it just sucks that what he thought was love caused him to lose his life. i thought Geek was going to be her savior. in a way he was but he ended up causing her more pain. it just seems like Kuarache couldn’t catch a break.

When I first started reading this book i was thinking that I had read it before but I hadn't. There is another book out with a lot of similarities to this one. There is a few errors but they are not to bad. 2 of the main characters names has been confusing. I don't know how much more Karrueche can take. It seems like she can't catch a break. I wonder how everything will play out.

I liked this book. Poor CheChe has it so rough. She lost the person closest to her then ended- in a relationship with a guy like Geek. At first he has his likable qualities but then all kinds of stuff starts falling out of his closet. I hope CheChe gets the love she deserves and I hope Geek gets what he deserves. As for Eyanna and Draya... idk . Eyanna deserves something 😐. Draya only acted out because she was in her feelings but to put the girl out in labor. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

This book was everthing, Karrueche had been through so much at a young age. Geek was a fraud. Elaine got exactly what she deserved. This is my first time reading this author but definitely not my last.

Always on Point!!!!
I just want to start off by saying that I read this book when it first came out and didn't post a review. Anticipating the release of part 2 I re-read pt. 1 and decided to share my thoughts so here goes. I try my best not to be too judgemental of characters and I absolutely try my best to weigh all factors that they are dealing with prior to stating my opinions. Karreuche was a naive young likeable girl who was dealt a bad hand. Her father was her world and to see him ruthlessly snatched from her placed her in the vulnerable position of allowing individuals to treat her as if she was worthless. Her capacity to love and forgive was tremendous. After watching her step-sister steal her friends, her man, and her materialistic possessions, she still willingly offered her a helping hand when it seemed as if she was down on her luck. I can't wait until that lady called Karma shows up and shows out on Eyanna. Geek was definitely a wolf wrapped in sheep's clothing and deserves everything that happens to him. Hopefully whatever hand he is dealt will consist of something slow, painful, and drawn out. He knew what Karreuche had gone through but he unapologetically called her out for not having anyone or anything besides him, he consistently lied and cheated, and the ULTIMATE BETRAYAL he has a wife, Draya that has been away caring for and finally burying her mother and this selfish negro had asked Karreuche to marry him, ingratiated his kids into her life all so he could have his cake and eat it too???WHERE THEY DO THAT AT????? Now Draya had every right to be hurt and angry but to kick Karreuche out once she found out she was in labor speaks VOLUMES about her character. Karreuche didn't know this girl from a can of paint and was just as much a victim of not more so than Draya. What goes around comes around however so I can only surmise that she will get hers in the end. With family like these people Karreuche didn't need any enemies because they were circled all around her. The love shown and given to her by Mr. And Mrs. Michaels served to show us that family doesn't have to consist of blood relatives only, the people that stand by you through the good, bad, and ugly like the Michaels epitomize the word family. Hearing Mrs. Michael's story about her past hopefully will be just the wakeup call Karreuche needs. Overall this was an excellent read. I highly recommend that you purchase. Ms Lucinda John very rarely disappoints and with this book she hit a homerun!!!! Kudos!!!!

One-Sentence Summary: Karrueche’s life is turned upside down and then, she meets Geek; could he be the answer to all her problems?
Time/Setting: I want to say California? I’m not sure, but it is present day.
Review: It really saddens me that this is the kind of book that my people read with an insatiable hunger. This is nothing against the author at all. The book itself was well-written, despite some editorial mishaps, especially considering some of the other nonsense I’ve seen in self-published books in other categories. The plot was engaging; it’s basically a soap opera. I did think some of the descriptions were ridiculous; for example, the main character is described as being short, almost a little person, with 42DD breasts. Just from a scientific standpoint, she should have back problems and be complaining about it. It just seemed cartoonish, instead of being sexy as it was intended to be. Also, does no one else consider a 17-year-old dating a 27-year-old man with twins a problem? The embedded rape culture is serious around here, even in our “realistic” fiction. (I am a black woman, but the primary reason I don’t read urban fiction is because the majority of it isn’t relatable to me; however, it would seem that urban fiction is often promoted as “our” story. It’s even set aside in a separate part of the book story so that the white folk know not to pick it up. This is a problem, among many, many others.)
I’m rating this book on the readability and the fact that my fam has the discipline to crank out all this bestselling books. Go head, sista!

OmG.....did not see this one coming. The knight in shining armor turned out to be evil villain in disguise. I cannot believe Geek turned out to be sooooo vindictive and insecure wow!?! Poor Che Che cannot get a break from her evil step mother not her evil Fiance or should I sad baby daddy because he is already MARRIED..... for the life of me I do not know how he thought he was going to pull this one off and his wife I understand her frustration but she knew something wasn't right. he just needs to man up and tell his wife the truth he is not in love with her anymore but hey she is doing what ever to save her marriage by sticking by his side through thick and thin so I cant wait to see there status in book 2....Stacks has made his grand entrance into this new saga things are going to get very interesting

Well this read was o.k. I was expecting more from a authoress of her caliber. Nonetheless, I was really shocked at all the revaluations about Geeks character. I would have never guest that his distributor would be Stacks crazy ass. I'm anxious to see how things will play out with CheChe's character.

I loved this book..my heart goes out to ..k...for what she had and is going through.....thank you GOD for the Michaels....I like and dislike..geek sometimes....geek should have listened to mommy and his brother....I recommend this book....great read....now I can't wait for of 2......can't wait to see how this play out

Wow
I truly enjoyed this book as always Lucinda John always delivers a powerful read. I never expected the events in this book to happen wow was I surprised. The saying everything that glitter ain't gold is the concept for this book. Geek truly fooled me just as much as he fooled Karreuche. I am looking forward to part two.

ONCE AGAIN

Got Dam this was a really good book. I could've did without all the errors and I hope it gets fixed for the next book. I can't believe how much of a dog Geek was like dam, I really hope Karruche move on with her life and leave that loser alone because he do not deserve her. I can't wait to read book 2. As usually Lucinda u did your thing!!! Karrueche needs to get rid of Geek,he really has issues and she deserves better...Her step sister is crazy but for some reason I think his connect is Ezra....hmmm come on part 2!!!
