This book is basically a memoir of on the journey of the writer to memorise the Quran. A very interesting journey and the story-telling was so hook up, I can't put this book down in order to know what happen next and next. MashaAllah.. full of gems too. I pray that Allah grant success to the writer in this life and the next life, and may He make ease for my journey to memorise the Quran too.

The book is an elaborate response to the question "So how did you learn Quran?". It is an honest and relatable one as well. Writing it in such details and recalling the precise feelings and thoughts and connections was worthwhile in my opinion. It made me feel the tumultuous and daunting nature of the path and the nuances of the experience.
It also demystified the dream: If you wanna do it, it is possible. It's hard, you're gonna suffer, but it is worth it! As I see it, the title of the book is a question you find the answer to within the book. The Quran is no 6 month challenge. And I must say I feel relieved. The connection we have to Allah is THE daily and life purpose and so should the journey of learning the Quran by heart.
I entered "The promise of ten" to know a quick fix and exited with hope and a somewhat better understanding of what a Qari is, and for that I am grateful.

A good reminder & motivator
It would have helped if there was a chapter dedicated specifically to the different memorization methods. Since the author shares his experience in Egypt, at least a description of memorization methods adopted in Eqypt vis - a - vis the sub - continent would have helped.

This was a very fun read.
The way it was written by the author, with him narrating his memorisation journey alongside giving you tips and advice for hifdh, made it very easy to follow and pay attention to.
Highly recommend it to anyone doing hifdh or planning to.

The author is earnest and well-meaning, but I was put off by the click-bait-style title of the book which turns out not to be correct. He took several years to memorise the Qur'an, as he explains in the pages that followed.
Nevertheless, this wasn't a bad book per se. There are some interesting insights, though I wish he had provided a lot more detail. Most of the nuts and bolts that he presents in the book relate to revision -- i.e. AFTER you've memorised things. He talks in this book about another book which is forthcoming, and suggests that those details will be available there.
So if you're short on time, you can skip this book and maybe wait until his next book comes out.

Anwar goes through his journey of becoming a hafidh with all its ups and downs. He advises throughout based on his experiences. I thought it was a great read. Anwar brilliantly humanizes the memorization journey, hopefully inspiring others struggling to memorize the Quran to keep going like myself. I gave it a four because I felt like the author recycled some points made in earlier chapters.
I'd say it's a *must-read* for Muslims in high school or college or any age.

A wonderful book which details the journey of a Mancunian in memorising the Quran. I’ve read this book twice now. Full of powerful stories. I personally enjoyed how Qari Mubashir navigated around the trials and tribulations in Cairo, Egypt.

This book is very useful for those who are struggling with the hifz of Quran. The writer elaborates his struggles and gives the reader some guidance on how to make the hifz of Qur'an easier.
