Short, yet filled with fantastic info! Very worthy read. Below are some of my personal takeaways:

Leadership is about moving people in the right direction.

Practical always trumps theoretical.

You are not only known by the company that you keep, but also how you keep that company. Treat others well.

Protect the integrity of your employees.

Leaders know the journey is made up of individual steps, each planted in uncharted territory.

You first make a goal and then the goal makes you.

People don’t want problems, they want solutions.

A leader knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way — John Maxwell

A vision that does not put fire in the eyes of others will not inspire buy-in.

Some help in order to manipulate, but good leaders help those that cannot pay him back.

Every leader has a responsibility to its constituency, and must give a promising future for their investment.

You cannot make projections on moving forward unless you have a firm grip on where you are and where you have been.

Cooperate, collaborate, and celebrate every step on the road of change.

A vision must motivate and relate.

Your audience wants to know how your vision will affect them, not how it will promote the organization.

Champions work on improving their skills.

A learning leader always has books to read and audio to listen to.

Leaders are strength coaches.

Whom you applaud, you empower.

Great leaders are not leaders of followers, they are leaders of leaders.

Mentoring is the process of adding value to someone else’s life.

Treat others as what they ought to be and you may help them become what they are capable of being.

Mentors inspire, instruct, correct, and delegate.

How you face your obstacles will determine the impact and duration of your leadership.

Effective leadership brings calm to chaos.
