A selection of poems written over three years, Hiraeth deals with themes of love—in all its forms—loss, and a sense of longing for something past, distant, or unattainable. "Holding out for the things that fade with the night" is how Yossie once described her love for poetry and her inspiration as a writer.
In Hiraeth, one gets a glimpse of scents, moments, and faces — the things that fade, and yet remain.
Yossie is a writer and strategic communications professional, with experience across financial services, education, and technology spheres.
In 2015, she published her debut book (poetry), titled 'Hiraeth'. While Yossie holds qualifications in Business Management and Communications Governance, she is first and foremost a keen reader whose passion for literature developed during her GCSE and A-Level study of English Literature in London.
Her writing deals with the concepts of home and belonging.
