Sebastian Gyddeon is a self made billionaire with his hands in more than just cyber security. Sebastian loves authority, and he enjoys lording over his kingdom. Until he meets a young dancer, Chris Court, at Dreams Of Leather, a fetish club in the heart of Boystown, Chicago.
Chris is looking for new ways to make money to finish his final year of law school, and dancing at the largest club in town seems like a good idea. But he's the only hire who refuses to sign one of the Contracts offered by the management. A Contact that can be purchased by any of the club's VIPs.
Sebastian wants Chris's Contract. Chris doesn't have one…yet.
My rating is purely for the author's ability to write an engaging story, even if it's one I hated. I'm no prude and for the most part, not squeamish when it comes to BDSM. Personally I don't enjoy sadism or humiliation in this type of relationship even when it's what the consenting MC's want, but I can like the story when it's laced with a real notion of love and respect. This had none and at no point was the premise of it based in the realm of BDSM's rules of safe, sane and consensual. It was cold and dark and there were several scenes so harshly brutal that they had me nearly in tears and at the point of a DNF. I continued with the hope that beneath the darkness there would be this wonderful, loving, romantic transformation between the MC's of this story, Gyddeon and Chris. And it did come, very unsatisfactorily in the few paragraphs of the Epilogue. If you are looking for any type of enjoyment in your romantic m/m romance, this is not it.
This is a pretty intense yet interesting story with some fascinating characters. Well-written with a fantastic blend of romance, drama, suspense and intense BDSM elements.
This book had potential at the beginning, but unfortunately didn't live up to it. There were too many things left out, scenes between the main characters that would have justified their relationship at the end. The Dom had no redeeming characteristics other than his hair. He had no self control, no sense of humor, no humility, a hair trigger temper and was incompetent both as a businessman and a Dom. There wasn't much difference between him and the villain. The relationship between the two main characters apparently was cemented by lovemaking that wasn't even written into the story, just referred to later. It was missing as was a lot that could have made the story plausible and worth reading.
I enjoyed this book. It has an interesting setting and the plot moved rapidly. I gave it three stars because I had trouble with the way the Sebastian treated Chris. It didn't seem real that Chris would care for a lover who did that. Just my opinion but I found a few moments truly cringe worthy.
The writing in this book was decent, and the storyline kept me interested enough to finish it, but the relationship between the two main characters was incredibly disappointing. There was no romance. I wouldn't even call this BDSM because there was no true consent involved. And the premise was highly unlikely.
Great bdsm story but needed more sex. Loved the conflicted character Sebastian. Solid well developed characters and storyline. Ending was a bit rushed _ I wanted the see a bit more of their life together after they fell in love.. but still a good book. Charo
