RACE AMAZON: False Dawn

Rate this book
For centuries the Bermuda Triangle has cast a sinister shadow over the ocean, with thousands of people vanishing from the face of the Earth, never to be seen again. Ships, planes and even submarines have been lost without trace, creating a mythology of alien intervention, ancient power sources and government conspiracies. Officially, the US Coastguard does not believe in the Triangle but secretly, world governments have finally decided to fight back. But how do you fight something that nobody has ever seen, or survived?Dragged into the Triangle's terrifying clutches, marine biologist Ian Flynn is about to become part of the solution! Together with a group of desperate survivors, and suicidal Special Forces soldiers, he must find the source of the Triangle's power, unravel the truth behind the disappearances and hope to open a doorway back home. But the reality is shocking and their mission is highly likely to end up being a one-way trip!

I have self-published 7 thrillers so far as well as a children's book and a short poetry anthology.

RACE AMAZON: False Dawn is the first in my James Pace thriller series. It was included in a collaboration box-set (HOTBOX) with 7 other indie authors in 2015, which became an international best seller.

I have always wanted to write, having been inspired by the great authors of the past like Tolkien, Lewis, Adams, Wells, Defoe and contemporary writers like Cussler, Higgins and Bagley.

I often write in small time windows but I do write more productively in lengthier spells, which is what I am increasingly doing. This helps me stay on track with multiple narrative threads and cuts down on a great deal of re-reading time prior to editing.

My new James Pace thriller will be released in autumn 2024, titled: ATLANTIS: Resurrection.

This was an exciting fast pace read! The story is very well researched, with strong character development! Andy Lucas is a strong writer, with descriptive skills that are thorough and florid. I felt influences of Clive Cussler for Lucas' knowledge of air and sea going vessels as well as ammunitions and gun paraphernalia. Also a shade of Dean Koontz in the author's character development and florid descriptions. And finally the storyline and otherworldliness had hints of Michael Crichton's Congo and Jurassic Park! I am sure Lucas is destine to become as successful as the aforementioned authors as his talent is strong and apparent from the onset of the prologue and all the way through this epic adventure.

Brilliant, a thrill packed, page turner with more than enough twists. Thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend to anyone

This book had been on my Kindle for a number of years and so I finally gave it a read. James Pace is shot and during his recovery is asked to compete in a race in the Amazon rain forest acting as a cameraman. The story that follows is one of deception, action, love and revenge and most infuriatingly some bizarre plot threads. Overall a very good read and I suppose as a reader you should sometimes think that the author has gone off in the wrong direction but I really would like to ask in this case why some of the plotlines were followed

Riveting

Couldn’t stop reading this story. Not a moment to get bored. I didn’t know tho that it stopped before it finished and I will have to buy the next book to continue reading the exciting adventure. While it irritates me that this was done to me, the story is exciting enough that I WILL buy the next part to see what happens. I am hoping that the next book will bring ten story to an end and not require a third purchase. The fact that I am buying part 2 should tell you how fantastic the story is.

Enjoyed this book about John Pace, a local hero, who gets roped in on a race through the Amazon. Other factions are in play and the competitors are at great risk. This is part one of two, so I will give a firm judgement when and if I read the second instalment.

Very disappointing ending

Was a very fast paced exciting story. Characters were well fleshed out and interesting. Kept me very interested and ,at times, on the edge of my seat. But the ending just sucked. If Andy Lucas books are like this, I won't be reading any more of them.

Disappointed

The story was well written with an interesting concept, but I was disappointed that the book was unfinished. You need to read a second book or perhaps more in order to come to any sort of conclusion.
