Keywords: business process - build to bless - Shield of Life - Sword of Life

Many literatures described the importance of business process for the company. Business process is as important as the result itself. Without proper business process, your company will never last long. Jim Collins explain more about the topics in his bestseller book Good to Great and Build to Last.

Paulus Bambang WS move a step further by proposing that a company should try to become a blessing for its shareholder and for its stakeholder. A company should become a blessing for its employees, its stock holders, its environment and its nation.

It can be achieve by define a proper objective, reason d'etre ... a reason for being. To be able to keep on your track, it's extremely important to set your proper reason d'etre. It it your reason d'etre that will guide you all the way.

The book uses many christian terminologies, such as Shield of Life, Sword of Life. Even the title itself indicate this: the 10 commandments reminds us to the story of Moses in the Old Testament. But I think the ideas applies to every people from every background. So it still a management book, not a religion book.

There's no boundary between business and spiritual. Business without value of truth will be horrible. Business with value without competence will have no great impact. It's the main needed of marketplace to play business with value of truth with competence. There should be a great balancing in between!
