Make (A Jack Reacher Novel) by Lee Child | Summary & Analysis
Lee Child’s twentieth Jack Reacher novel is an almost paranoiac tale that touches upon some of the most fundamental concerns of human existence. Reacher, accompanying one character and accompanied by another, finds himself entangled in a curious case not of his own choosing, helping to resolve not only one disappearance, but what amounts to a series of murders. It offers readers more of the kind of action and tension they have come to expect from the exploits of Jack Reacher.
Child’s novel follows Jack Reacher as a chance stop-off to find out the meaning of a place’s name brings him into association with Michelle Chang, who searches for a colleague gone missing. The two follow leads from Chicago to Los Angeles and back, trying to find Chang’s vanished colleague. They discover that he and they have become entangled in a multilayered and highly illegal scheme that seems to offer a quiet end to those who seek it, but in fact offers them only torment – and films of it to customers all too eager to pay much for them. Set mostly in the fictitious Kansas town of Mother’s Rest. On a train-line from Oklahoma City to Chicago, it is a seemingly bucolic place.

Reacher is my favorite character (even if they preposterously let Tom Cruise play him). And this one doesn't fail. My only problem is that it's too long between new books and I always read these in a day or two then have to fill my time with mostly lesser works
