*This is book 6 in the Key West Culinary Cozy Series* Marilyn and Tiara are at it again, as murder strikes too close to the family for comfort. Tiara’s father travels to Key West for a charter fishing vacation with his buddy. While attempting to reconnect with his daughter, he finds himself in hot water when his buddy goes missing. Marilyn still feels more than a bit of hostility toward her ex, but is swayed by her daughter to help when the police interview him as a “person of interest.”

Summer Prescott is well-known in the Cozy Mystery realm, having written and published several Best-Sellers in the genre. An avid reader of Thrillers, Horror and Suspense, the author has decided to follow her passion with the debut of her Thriller, The Quiet Type, which launched in the top 50 of the Serial Killer category on Amazon. The novel has received high praise in its reviews, and Summer is considering a possible trilogy or series to continue the story.
Another nice Key West Culinary cozy. We got to meet the MC's ex-husband and we get a better understanding why she left him. There were two mysteries in this one. They were both interesting and I didn't figure out the murderers until the MC found out. I only gave it three stars because the end seemed rushed. But, it won't stop me from reading more in the series.
In the latest chapter of Marilyn and Tiara’s life a blast from the past is back into their lives. Tiara’s father has travelled to Key West for a charter fishing vacation with his friend. Soon after the trip his friend is missing and he is being investigated in the disappearance. Marilyn doesn’t trust her ex and is not interested in helping him. Tiara finally makes a plea that Marilyn can’t refuse, just in time for a murder. Suddenly, Daniel is the prime suspect. As this series goes on I enjoy them more. The characters are interesting and well-developed. Even Tim Eckels has shown redeeming qualities. The action moves at a steady pace.
This time two people are killed by two different people. One is a woman who goes around faking injuries on business owners properties so she can sue them later. The other is a friend of Tiara's dad, who is actually a client. These two are murdered. This book was okay. Not more such of a mystery, though.
Marilyn’s ex-husband comes to town to visit Tiara, bringing a friend with him. It doesn’t take long for things to go wrong. I really enjoyed this book!
Most of my other reviews for this series were 4 ⭐️, but I give this 5 because I love when a person kicks some serious booty when faced with a threat! I especially love it when that person is a woman, since we are usually not physically as strong as a man.
I just wish the butt kicking would have happened to the litigator instead. Oh well, I guess that person is out of the picture in another way.
I was disappointed when I figured out who the killer was. I wish it hadn’t been them, but I’m sure any person who it turned out to be would have been sad. The question is, is Daniel ok or is he swimming with the fish like his friend Brad?
Marilyn and Tiara are getting their expansion. Yay! Marilyn started making her delicious key lime pies in her home and ultimately was able to save up enough money to purchase her storefront. Business has been so good that she now has enough for an expansion. And it all started with pie.
This book has a recipe for key lime poundcake at the very end, so keep turning pages past the preview pages for book 7 so you can save it.
I try not to give 3s because Amazon ratings consider 3 negative, but after constant issues, 3 it is. In the very beginning of series, states that daughter wanted dream job, yet it was revealed there that she had been offered it at some point but had turned it down, unexplained in story then and after. Then there is constant reminder of how anything that is past that day, is not so called fresh, which is ridiculous, pies are not un-fresh after just 1 day, and considering the cost to make, no real business could or would do that, and with the cost and availability of key lime with is only for grown in the keys, ridiculous to say key lime anything would be tossed or otherwise given away, each and every day, not to mention the other assorted sweets, and again, limes of the regular sort are not necessarily that cheap either. Then there was part where customer came in while ex in shop, yet after he left, said she went back to reading. If the main character got it all on phone, video, why would she keep going to watch the old lady. The actions of the daughter, contrary to repeated statements, do not, in fact show her as being responsible nor mature, but in fact immature and irresponsible. Overall, there are many issues with this and the other books in this series, plus lack of proofreading, that I should go back and change overgenerous ratings, but there are other books, other things to do with my time instead. This is the last book of the series, for me, I have better things to do.
I love this series and am grateful that I was lucky enough to receive a copy from the author for review. I don't know how she manages to get them out so quickly but they are wonderful. the returning characters are great and come together again to solve not one but two murders in the newest installment. Marilyn and Tiara team up again with the help of Kelcie, Bernard and I hate to say it but the creepy neighbor Tim. Tim is proving more helpful and is starting to grow on me. When Daniel, Marilyn's jerk of an exhusband suddenly lands in Key West with a client, things become dramatically more exciting. Mailyn and Bernarx Courtland are still dancing around their attraction to each other and he steps in to rescue them. Through the events that wreak havok on Marilyn and the bakery life is not dull in Key West. Mailyn faces several threats to the bakery and her livelyhood from a repeat law suit filing elderly woman and her crazy nephew to one of the dangerous murderers. You know that it's not the end of the story though as Daniel leaves everyone wondering where he has gone. I can't wait to read more of the ladies' , detective's and even Tim's adventures. As always, I would like to compliment the author for a great job in delivering a good story that is well written and free of mistakes and typos.
Another great adventure for Marilyn and Tiara, the mother/daughter amateur crime solving duo! Marilyn has trouble from two different sides this time, the first from her ex-husband and Tiara's father, Daniel, and the second from Lizzie, a litigation hungry resident of Key West. Poor Marilyn! With the exception of the success of her business, she just seems to be a magnet for discord. On top of all of that, she still has to deal with her creepy neighbor, Tim, who always seems to be there, lurking. I do hope that either she or the handsome Detective Cortland make a move in the romance department because they've been tiptoeing around each other for long enough. The only problem I have when reading this series is that I find myself drooling over the delectable desserts that Marilyn creates in her shop, SubLime Sweets!
I really enjoyed this next book in the key lime series. Marilyn has done her best to raise and support her daughter Tiara without any assistance from her ex husband Daniel. Her move to Florida was a smart one and her key lime pie shop is flourishing. When Tiara announces that her father is coming to visit, Marilyn works hard to keep her emotions at bay, trying to believe he is really trying to make amends with their daughter. Of course, nothing goes as planned and when a body is found, Daniel is the prime suspect. Marilyn has other things on her mind when local resident Litigation Lizzie decides to target Marilyn's shop as her next get rich quick scheme. The writing and context of the book was really good and I was able to really get lost in the story. It is a quick read, took me about 90 minutes to read, but this book was worth it.
Tiara's Father and Marilyn's Ex Husband travel to Key West for a charter fishing vacation with his Buddy. He hopes to also try to reconnect with Tiara his Daughter. But when his Buddy goes missing he suddenly finds himself in hot water. Marilyn still feels some hostility toward her ex but Tiara manages to sway her into helping him when the police interview him as a "person of interest". I love this series and the characters the story flows along nicely.
I love the players in this series. Mother and daughter are savvy business woman but warm emotionally attached not just to each other but to the regular cast of characters. Bakers by day, crime solvers by night they get the job done. Quirky neighbors and a sexy detective that won't make a move toward romance add depth to the story line. Get the series, you won't be disappointed.
This was really good. I enjoyed the story about her ex-husband and all the trouble he caused and the swirling chaos that seems to suck Marilyn and her daughter and friend in. A surprise twist in who the real bad guy was... and perhaps a little bit of a mellowing of an old oddball character? Gotta read it to find out!
Each book in this series is better than the one before. Marilyn, Tiara, and the bakery are in the middle of a mess and Tiara's father appears with a mess of his own in this book. Just enough twist and turns to keep you interested. Smooth, easy reading, perfect for when you have a couple of hours to relax.
When Marilyn learns from her daughter that her ex-husband is planning to visit, she has a feeling that it will not go well. Soon he will be the prime suspect in a murder and it will be up to her to find the real killer as she goes stalking.
Once again she will risk her life to save people. A fast paced cozy.

There are 2 murders... is Marilyn's ex husband involved? There's a lot happening in this book but that doesn't distract from the fun of reading it. Marilyn is being sued for 4 million dollars by a woman who ends up dead. Madison's ex shows up and his client is murdered. Is it all tied together? Read this fast paced cozy and find out.
In this book, Marilyn is dreading the visit from her ex-husband. Her daughter Tiara is excited at the prospect of seeing her dad so for her sake, Marilyn will tough it out. Sadly there is a murder and her ex is the primary suspect. Could he really be a killer? She must find out for both her sake and that of Tiara, and of course for her ex.
This is a reread for me. I love the interactions between mother and daughter. Good recipes at the end, this one was key lime pound cake. Yum. Keep writing this series because I love them.
Marilyn's ex is supposedly coming for a visit to see their daughter, but that's only the start of her problems. I enjoy this series and can't wait for more. I received this as an ARC and voluntarily choose to reveiw.
Enjoyed another key lime cozy .It's a short, simple,Murder mystery packed With lots of twist and turns That will have you wondering What is going on! Now onto book 7.
Well written, original story with great characters. I look forward to reading more in this series. I do hope at some point Tim stops acting so strange.
