Divided We Fall is the sixth installment of the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot series and the continuing story of Staff Sergeant Brad Thompson and his team as they survive the Primal invasion plaguing the world... They had returned home with the hope of finding some peace. The means for the cure had been safely transported to the last safe zone available to them. The team had always known that their strength lay in being human and working together. The Primals could not stop them in a foreign land nor could they stop them on American soil. Little did Brad and his team know that the evils they faced from the Primals paled in comparison to the evil that now threatened the last survivors in a world no longer united. Would the team they built stand united, or would this new threat pave the way for annihilation of mankind.

W. J. Lundy is a still serving Veteran of the U.S. Military with service in Afghanistan. He has over 12 years of combined service with the Army and Navy in Europe, the Balkans and Southwest Asia. W.J. is an avid athlete, writer, backpacker and shooting enthusiast. He currently resides with his wife and daughter in Central Michigan.

I developed the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot series from notes and ideas I had put together while deployed to Afghanistan. I had been jokingly asked how we would defend against a zombie attack.

I wanted to tell a story that portrays the military that I know, that displays our actual capabilities. These are my thoughts, I hope you enjoy them, and thank you for reading.

Well done!

WARNING. PARTIAL SPOILERS*** I believe this is it. After spanning (literally) halfway round the world, from the sandbox of Afghanistan to a lake in West Virginia, the story following Brad, Sean, and Brooks comes to an end...?? I am sorry to see the ride end, but I think I see a new series coming down the pipe from Mr. Lundy. If this IS the end to the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot series, it is a good one. Brad and his comrades deserve a happy ending. I have very much enjoyed this series by Lundy. The story being written by an author that has real tactical training has made this series an outstanding bit of work. I look forward to the book I believe is coming next from Lundy; THE SHADOWS? I saw the cover shot of the new story at the end of this book. I will certainly be checking that out the instant it becomes available! Not only does Mr. Lundy have tactical knowledge but is a very gifted writer as well. The stories are detailed and the characters are very cool. I loved following along with them as they ran a gauntlet of extreme peril, fierce battles, and nonstop action while managing to keep their humanity in tact as so many around them turned nearly as feral as the infected that attack relentlessly throughout the story. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot was a successful mission.

Brad Thompson and his men appear to be safe in a military camp behind steel and concrete walls in Savannah. He is still torn between leaving the safety of the camp to search for his family and finding some way to get the men he left behind home. But there is still the ever present danger of the Primals. He and his men are more than willing to help with the duties of guarding the post. (Spoilers)Shawn is still very protective of Ella who has now become the focus of Gen Reynolds. He is insisting she be turned over to his scientist because she might carry the anti bodies that can produce a vaccine to the Primal Virus. Lt. Colonel Cloud, the very man who abandoned Brad and his team on the oil rig is feeling the weight of the choices he has made and is now a pawn of Gen. Reynolds. Sgt. Turner and Hassan are facing their own problems; their food stores are running low and it is getting colder in Hairatan Afghanistan. The danger of the river freezing over will allow the large horde of primals to enter the city. Cloud is sent to rescue them but with the sole intent of using them as bait. However only the soldiers are to be brought back, leaving the civilians to fend for themselves, something Turner is unwilling to do. There are tense moments as Cloud and Turner face off. Back in the Savannah compound, Brad and a team of men are sent out on patrol and promptly ambushed. To make matters worse Primals are heading their way in large numbers ahead of a suspicious fire that could potentially reach the Savannah safe zone. Fighting a battle on two fronts, Brad fights his way back to the compound only to find it overrun by the primals and a group of Mercs who are using the diversion in an attempt to capture Ella. Shawn, ever vigilant has managed to keep Ella out of their grasp with Chelsea's help but they are still surrounded. In the meantime, we are introduced to Dan, an ex Marine and Prepper who is living high in the mountains of West Virginia in relative safety with several families until a group of marauders come calling. There are three intersecting stories and might seem confusing at first but stick with it, Mr. Lundy weaves them together seamlessly. I really hope there is a continuation to this series as it only seems to get better and better with each new installment.

This sixth book of the 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot' series was amazing. An unbelievably fast-paced read with so much action! The great thing is that Mr. Lundy writes clear descriptions to detail everything without it being too much. The characters are real, each with their own mannerisms, humor, and fighting skills. The challenges that they face, the planning that they must do, and the obstacles that they attempt to overcome are incredible. I'd love for this whole series to be made into the most epic movie! Until then, the whole series is a great read! Well done!

Through hell and high water Staff Sergeant Brad Thompson & crew manage to get Ella into safe hands for research towards a cure of the Primal virus. What they didn’t know was that there was another group working on a vaccine from another angle. If this other group headed by what was left of the government establishment succeeded then they would no longer want or need the girl Ella. Playing a dangerous game of hide & seek, with both the “men in black” and the infected, Brad & crew head for Savannah with Ella while Sean and a company of Rangers move to take out the opposition. There’s plenty of action and tension mounts as our boys play for all the marbles.

And here I thought this was the end.....

....then Lundy released another book following this one! Awesome! I can't imagine how he's going to top this one, though. This book has it all -- your beloved characters, new likable characters, villains to detest, non-stop action, and of course the infected. One of the best books in the series. I'm excited to read the next, but I know already I'll be bummed when it's done. WTF stands head and shoulders above most other series in the genre.

Good reading

I kinda shy away from "zombie" books; although I do watch Walking Dead. This series caught my interest right away. The characters are great and I cared about if they lived or died. I have been reading the series in order. One after the other. Great job.

Hold on tight for another wild ride, as Brad reunites with his brothers in arms, as they face new enemies and old. Non stop action and plot twists to keep you on your toes, with fantastic narration. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

The series stays on point.

The story continues with the characters still in the fight. The group is reunited in a running battle across the world.

Brad and the team are called upon again, as the infected are not the major problem anymore. People looking to take advantage are looking for a cure and intend to control the world.

A fantastic series

This was a really good series. One of the best I have read in quite some time. It doesn't state it anywhere, but this read like the last book of the series. I am glad it ended like it did. That attempt at romance left a lot to be desired. I never felt it. I like where everyone ended up. If there are more books, I will be reading them, but if not, this was a very satisfying end to this series.

A satisfying end to the WTF series. I’ve grown close to the characters and it was sad to know the journey had ended. However, as talented as Mr. Lundy is, I’m sure he could always come back and let us in on their lives at a later date.
I’m looking forward to reading the other series’ that this author has written. I highly recommend this apocalyptic series.

This is a great book in the whiskey tango foxtrot series. This is book number six and it is just as good as all the previous books. I really love the military aspect and Termanology in this book. The author is very good and his stories are very believable. I do not know if there will be a next book but if there is I’m going to read it. Recommend this book.I hope Brad finds peace.

3.5 stars. Still love the series but compared to some of the earlier books, this one didnt quite come together IMO. At times, I felt like - yep, its happening and then it was like - it's gone off the rails and we've taken a detour. But if you love the series, you'll be happy you bought it.

W. J. Lundy is like an old Chevy truck. He delivers time and time again, with a plot and characters which just dominate you. It may not be the deepest plot, but you are entertained and left wanting more. The type of book where you want to spend every spare minute reading it.

The sergeant is back

Another chapter on the backs of our military men and woman fighting the infected horde. I appreciate a great story but felt this section was not captivating as previous incarnations. I will still look forward to the journey ahead.

Let down

The finale of a six book series deserves such a better ending. It seemed so rushed and like the author was ready to get it over with. Could have done a better job at tying up loose ends.

Strong finish

Another good book to a long series of successes. Tied together well and complete. Satisfying with, closure, complete without those endings leaving you wanting more feeling another book is inevitable.

Divided We Fall: A Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Novel, Book 6

One of my favorite series by one of my favorite authors. W.J. Lundy's service is quite obvious through the authenticity of his characters, the action scenes and the interaction between characters. I love it!
