No sooner does psychic Lottie Baldwin pull up stakes and move to Cheyenne, North Dakota, than she finds herself up to her neck in a series of mysterious robberies. Can Lottie and the handsome new man in her life, deputy sheriff Harlan Erikson, solve the crime spree before Lottie becomes the next victim?
Elizabeth Delisi has wanted to be a writer since she was in first grade, and probably would have written in the womb if she could have convinced her mother to swallow a pencil. But life hasn't always gone the way she planned, and on her road to publication she worked as a motel maid, waitress, secretary, administrative aide, substitute teacher, and newspaper reporter.
Elizabeth's novels include a FATAL FORTUNE, first in the Lottie Baldwin paranormal mystery series; LADY OF THE TWO LANDS, a time-travel romance; and SINCE ALL IS PASSING, a suspense. She's written contemporary and paranormal romance novellas for ONE TOUCH BEYOND; ENCHANTED HOLIDAYS; HOLIDAY HEARTS; HOLIDAY HEARTS 2; and CUPID'S CAPERS, and has also published a speculative short story collection, THE MIDNIGHT ZONE. In addition to her writing, Elizabeth teaches online writing courses for Writer's Digest.
Elizabeth lives in New Hampshire with her husband and feisty parakeet. She enjoys hearing from her readers at elizabeth@elizabethdelisi.com and invites everyone to visit her website at www.elizabethdelisi.com.
Although book three in the series this is the book that explains how Lottie ended up in Cheyenne, North Dakota with Harlan Erikson as her boyfriend. Her trusty tarot cards and premonitions are front and center as a local thief is being searched for. In addition to the mystery of who the thief is there are a few scenes with Harlan’s ex-girlfriend and a persistent boyfriend of Lottie’s that tracks her to Cheyenne. Christmas, mistletoe and magic are in the air with a cozy scene to wrap this story up with.
This book is short at fewer than 100 pages and easily read in a day. Having used tarot cards, it is fun to read about them as Lottie uses or sees them during this story. This is a clean story with a bit of punching and hitting but no graphic violence, profanity or promiscuity.
Mistletoe Medium was a quick, fun, and easy read. I enjoyed the quirky and likable characters, interesting storyline, and psychic aspect.
Much of the story seemed rushed to me, the attraction between Lottie and Harlan and the mystery, but that's understandable due to the short length of the story. Delisi presented the mystery itself in a very compelling way, by offering clues through Lottie's psychic visions. It really pulled me in and had me trying to decipher what they could mean.
This peek into Lottie's world definitely has me intrigued. I'm quite interested in reading more of this series to learn even more about these captivating characters.
