Fictional anecdotes, Scriptural examples and well-written explanations - all about the ministry of encouragement, what that means, and how necessary it is in today's church.
The book is fairly light, not too long, and, I thought, well worth reading. There are some excellent points made, and some surprisingly thought-provoking suggestions.
Written primarily for Christians, much of the advice would be relevant to anyone wanting to find ways of expressing positive sentiments without being fake or exaggerating.
Four and a half stars, really.

I read this many years ago for the first time, and rereading - honestly - I was not that impressed. It's not bad, but it seems I've read so many really, really amazing Christian non-fiction books that it falls sort of flat. That's OK though, it would be sad if we didn't move on. :)
