An Introduction to Native North America provides a basic introduction to the native peoples of North America, including both the United States and Canada. It covers the history of research, basic prehistory, the European invasion and the impact of Europeans on Native cultures. Additionally, much of the book is written from the perspective of the ethnographic present, and the various cultures are described as they were at the specific times noted in the text.

A thorough ethnography on the tribes of North America, this book was assigned reading for my anthropology course AN 248. I made a B for this course. Spring 2020. At Jacksonville State University with the professor Dr. Harry Holstein. The book is divided up into sections by territories such as southeastern, southwestern, the Great Plains, the Arctic and Subarctic. Each chapter is divided into sections covering: religion, crops, marriages, child bearing, and their dwellings. It also covers the different area settings in time, such as Paleo Indian or Woodland eras.
