Charlotte Sorenson winds up in Redemption, Kansas, where she's found her long-lost aunt. Charlie is tired of her wandering life and wants to find a home. But not all is right in the railroad town, and Charlie is running from her own secrets--smack dab into Sheriff Matthew Hamilton, a reluctant sheriff who's trying to ferret out who killed his brother. His trail leads him right back to Charlie, who's trying to convince herself--and everyone else--that she's turned over a new leaf, this time with some help from the Almighty.

I really liked Matt & Charlie’s story. Redemption was the name of the town and also the theme of the book. Charlie had to work through her insecurities and find answers about her past before she could move forward, and I liked going along with her on her journey. The thing that kept me from enjoying this story more and giving it a higher rating was that there were a lot of editing errors that distracted from the story. It may have been because I read it in a collection. It was a really good story, though, and I would definitely recommend it. I was gifted a copy of this collection in exchange for my honest opinion.
Two stars only because the story itself is different and there's a message in it. The writing was difficult to follow because there was little or no background to the characters until you get well into the story and then things come out here and there. Characters are introduced and then you have to wait and find out who they are.
Find an editor or have someone proofread it at least! There were way too many missing words, spelling errors and even Matt's name was misspelled. It's an insult to the reader. There's a good deal of preaching and scripture in the second half of the story.I found the whole story to be unrealistic and unbelievable.
A lovely story of true redemption…from a life on the run with a gang, Charlotte better known as Charlie, comes to town looking for her Aunt and finally finds her. In doing so, she also finds that her past can be forgiven by God and her life is now redeemed by the blood of Christ. She also finds she doesn’t have to travel life’s road alone. A love story you won’t expect! I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.
I very much enjoyed this story. The writing enabled me to get to know the characters and I did like most of them. There are a few grammar issues, however they did not detract from my enjoyment. The idea of unsaved, saved, and repenting runs strongly through this story and encouraged me to search myself as I read. Learning about a railroad town and mismanagement by one individual inpacting many was fascinating. Highly recommend this story.
