Containing creative illustrations and endless imagination, this book will entertain your child and you.
This is Sally. She is twelve years old and loves to read. Sally lives in a small town called Durham in North Carolina, and she visits the library almost two times a week. People say Sally is addicted to reading.
When Sally goes to the library, she takes Milkshake, her cat. Milkshake likes to sit on the tall stool in the library and watch Sally while she is looking for a good book to read. Sally believes that Milkshake understands her completely, even if he can't talk to her.
It was Monday morning, and Sally did not have to go to school since it was a holiday. What she didn't know is that this day was going to be special.

This series costs $2.99 per chapter!!! This is only chapter one... Not book one! My daughter was very disappointed that I would not pay over $20 to get to read the whole book!
What a fun way kids to not only learn what it's like to learn....
I found this to be a very interesting and fun way for young kids to learn about animals at the zoo and also in encouraging them to want to read and whenever possible to visit the library, too. Such brilliantly illustrated work. I therefore recommend this ebook for young kids and wish to give this ebook five stars just for these reasons only. I received this ebook for free and have given it an honest review! Great job Dan! Keep getting better and better! By Angela
My daughter and I loved the story, loved Sally and little Milkshake, (the cat); we were taken aback however, by the fact that barely into the story, the book ends. In a very unlikely cliffhanger, which I must say it's quite annoying. This book should be marketed as a 3 minute introduction and not book 1 of a series. Very disappointed.
WHAT?? I am totally SHOCKED! How could anyone use unfinished and incomplete stories for children to solicit the purchase of upcoming books. I was reading this book and getting so excited about reading it to our grandchildren, and then right in the middle of it, I come to:
"Do you want to know what happens next? Does Sally find the animals and return them? If so, how did she return them?" Jackson, Dan. Children Book : The Magical Zoo #1 (Illustrated childrens books & Great bedtime stories) . Unknown. Kindle Edition.
NO, definitely NOT great bedtime stories, because you would obviously need to have all the books, AND every young child at this age would want every story read before going to sleep. I was totally excited reading this book, until I was totally shocked and disappointed in it. Sorry, Dan Jackson, but this manipulation of children doesn't work for me. I will use your idea to make up endings for my grandchildren, but I will not buy any more books from you. Hopefully someone will take the idea and write a complete book of this nature for JK to Grade 3 children. I am certainly not being sucked into buying any more of The Magical Zoo series. Thankful this one was FREE.
This first book in a series features Sally, a twelve-year-old girl from North Carolina who loves to read. She frequently brings her cat, Milkshake, to her frequent trips to the library. On one visit, Sally spies an interesting book on a high shelf and falls while reaching for it. The book opens and zoo animals begin emerging from its pages. Soon the library is overrun by these zoo animals as well as the zookeeper who will be searching for them. The story ends abruptly with the author asking the reader questions about what will happen next. Readers need to purchase the next book in order to finish the story presented in Book # 1. Many children will experience frustration. There are a few illustrations, but they were small and repetitive. My best description of the book would be to call it one chapter of a beginning chapter book. The plotline was promising but the book is incomplete.
A serial for kids so really this can be considered more a prequel rather than chapter one. As such the book introduces readers to Sally and her cat Milkshake who enjoy the library when a special book catches her eye. What follows next is a gameless Jumanji parody where the animals come out and scatter as quick as they arrive since Sally doesn’t know how to close a book.
The cliffhanger leads to the rest of the series, which must be paid for to find out what happens.
Illustrations for this book aren't the best and the animals look like commonly used Clipart.
Adult readers will need to commit to the series before letting their littlest near to it.
This was a great chapter to read. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more of the story. The warrant even a expiring that this was only 1 cheaper. Even my daughter was disappointed that there wasn't more to listen to. The only plus was the pictures in the b book were well thought out. What's not to love about going to the library. Only can always find a new adventure to go on. But I don't know a library that will let you take a pet into.
Sally along with her faithful companion, Milkshake the cat, go to the library twice a week. Milkshake likes to look at the books. They found an interesting looking book called, The Magical Zoo. Sally opened it and Milkshake saw a bright light. Would something come out of the book? Would this be the best book ever? You will get to listen/read the rest to find out what happens. This is a very short story and I hope if I bought it at the store, I purchased Number two. I wonder what happens next. I borrowed this book on a Kindle Unlimited website and so can you.
Sally loves taking her cat Milkshatke to the Library with her. She loves sitting and reading too him. She finds a strange book on an upper shelf. As she opens it Milkshake notices a strange glow coming from the book. Suddenly several animals and a zoo keeper pop out of the book. This is obviously the first book in The Magical Zoo series. Very cute.
I ended up paraphrasing rather than reading the inane text, and just having my child guess what was going on in the illustrations. More importantly, this is really only a portion of a story and is obviously just meant to get you to buy the next part.
This is the first book I read to my little one. He truly liked it. He was smiling at me and listening to each word. Will read it to him again. A good read.
My 8 year old granddaughter does not like to read! Mot only did she read it book, she read it with enthusiasm! I could not wait to hear now it was to end!
This is only an introduction; not a standalone story.
The images were adequate and the font was clear. This magical story was getting underway when the exciting part disappeared. Whoosh! ... disappeared into the next sequel.
Good book but it could've been longer and more exiting. Also this book was a little bit boring but was funny when the animals popped out of the book. The girl was funny when she opened the book and she screamed because she wasn't expecting it.
I don't think I have read a story like this before. Reminded me of jamanji, without playing the game. Would have liked to have the story finish so we would know how they got the animals back and where they found them all in the same book.
This book started off on such a delightful beginning --- a magical book found in the library by a girl and her pet cat but then it just stops! With no ending …. no nothing, just the author’s way of getting you to buy the next book, very disappointing………. it did have nice illustrations.
It's a clever little book for young children. I enjoyed it probably more than my young granddaughters, whose attention spans are limited. But they did enjoy it. What's next? Whatever my grandchildren want me to read.
Excited the story to be a bit lengthy. This was way too short and offered little glimpse of what the other books in the series contain. Also, the orientation gets inversed whenever I open it. I hope it gets fixed pretty soon.
You have to get all of the books to see what happens next? Why is that the case with this series? Just as I am reading and get into the story, it ends with a "Do you want to know what happens next?
A cute concept for the story, a girl finds a magical book. I'm not sure there was really enough to actually decide if I liked it or not. It is obviously meant to be the first in a series but it ended feeling very incomplete.
The Magical Zoo is a fun read for those who have been reading for a little while. It doesn’t quite come to an end. You read the other books in the series. Also, a fun book to read to little ones.
It was okay, book it was short and magical. The illustrations are colorful and neat, the wording isn't too complicated and redundant, and the storyline is one that was interesting in.
