I can't even begin to give this book a rating. Absolute crap.

I've read chick lit before. When it started going brain dead, I stopped. I decided to go back, just for the Hell of it. I made a bad choice to go back with this one. Although I do admit that it started out rather well and was actually funny in the beginning. As I got further into it, it started to die. I could actually feel my brain cells committing suicide. A horrible book, badly written, predictable plot. Just really, really BAD. A total waste of my time.

Just ok

The plot was decent but there were some typos. The ending is odd. The book just ends and it doesn't seem like the author did a good job wrapping up the events

Only read it because it was a free download. Not funny, unlikeable characters and horrible ending that begs you to continue reading the series. Can't believe this got the green-light from the publisher for additional books.

This year I decided to go through the books that have been sitting on my Kindle for a long long time... this was one of them. It did not work for me. I started reading it and just could not connect with the story until I realized it is a chick-lit written by a man... and it definitely shows.

First of all, no girl I know would EVER sit on a public restroom's toilet without a seat cover... even worse... no girl would EVER sit on a WET public toilet, not to say without a seat cover... eeew this was just unconceivable and gross.

Then there is the very cliche gay best friend who is the confidant, and over the top drama, and a hot man.. all this in less than 20 pages.
Sorry, just did not work for me.

Amazon was giving this ebook away. Because no one is buying it. Because it sucks.

Garbage chick lit written by a man - despite my "I have to finish it if I started it" OCD and an earnest attempt to give it a chance, by the time I hit 11% I had to tap out. Save yourself time and frustration.

Annie has left Texas for New York in hopes to make it big. The problem is her arch enemy, who grew up in the same trailer park, has followed her there with the same hopes.

The only thing Annie has going for her is her bff makeup artist that lives in the same building as she does.

Annie's arch enemy, Brittany, does her best to make Annie's life as miserable as possible, with results that end up being both humiliating and hilarious, and always finds a way to backfire on Brittany.

Annie has a opportunity for her first real big break as a model, but it comes with a multitude of complications, including the fact that Annie has to convince her boss to hire both her bff and arch enemy, as well as her having to hire a private investigator.

It was a good read. Great way to spend an afternoon.

So Annie is a small Texas girl that finally gets her break in the modeling world when a big time businessman notices her and ask her to be his spokesmodel for a new line of items for his company. She agrees but things go south when a fellow Texan, who just happens to be someone from her past, tries to take her chance of being the spokesmodel for the company. The hilarious hijinks that keep Annie in the limelight is what makes this book so interesting and of course her love life that involves two very different men doesn’t help. I can’t wait to read what happens in the next book about Annie.

This was a light-hearted, easy read. It has been hanging around on my kindle forever and I took a chance. If you like your comedy slapstick and the story unchallenging then you might like this. It was quite funny, looking at two young ladies from a trailer park trying to make it as top models, with a rivalry that goes back to a childhood mistake.

The comedy is over the top, and the situations ridiculous, but to be honest I didn't want to read anything too heavy and this fit the bill.

The ending left things unresolved though which was a little annoying.

Funny and Action packed

Great story that had me laughing from the very first paragraph. Characters you love, characters you hate, and even a few you can easily relate to! You start off thinking Annie finally is on the right track to the good life on Easy Street, you wind up thinking what's going to go wrong next. You start to think things are finally calming down again for Annie, until she opens her apartment door to leave for her date...thank goodness for the drunk pizza delivery guy!

Women wanting men....

This is another great novel by Willie. T he story is an every day kinda story. It involves a couple of Models who have it out for each other. Brittney is being very persistent in getting Annie in trouble or ever fired from her job. Both are models and if Britt could manage a way to s how Annie as a troublemaker; Britt could convince Tomi who is the boss to fire Annie. That would give Brittney the upper hand she has been waiting for.
However in the end, the truth always prevails.

I tried, and I did start to warm just a little to the main character, but no. Only got half way through and just couldn’t do any more. Way to many crazy things to happen in a short space of time, other characters a bit one dimensional, totally unbelievable. It just felt like a really bad soap opera. If the author took out at least half of the crazy it might make a readable book, but this was just too much. Sorry, not for me.

Annie McCauley is from a mobile park in Mesa View, Texas and gets her first break as a model in New York. Annie’s arch enemy Brittany Carstairs tries to sabotage her career but Annie succeeds and becomes a top model. Annie has a crush on the CEO of Di Ponti Cosmetics and Fashions, Tomi Di Ponti. Annie and her friends take you on a zany comical adventures in the world of fashion. I really enjoyed this hilarious women’s romantic fiction novel.

I don’t understand all the bad reviews. This was a fun romantic comedy with a little crime thrown in. I thought the characters were believable and sort of hilarious. I didn’t see many typos at all, and it wasn’t predictable at all. Maybe what I read was a revised version?

I will read more from this author and in this series.

I enjoyed this madcap book! Poor Annie goes through a lot from the beginning when her bottom gets superglued to a toilet seat by her rival, till the end of the book. Not only that, but somebody posts it on youtube! At times, this was so funny, I was laughing out loud! Check it out for a good read! I want to read the second book Amsden's written about Annie.

A mindless read (which I don't mind too much, since my brain needs a holiday). There were a few funny moments, but the implausible plot, the exceptionally dense main character and the oh-so-obvious setup for a sequel didn't inspire me to read any more.

Some laugh out loud moments in the beginning and the story is a bit zany. The ending isn’t really an ending, rather a set-up for the next in the series, which I always feel disappointed by.

Funny

The things that happen to Annie are so silly; but laugh out loud funny. They are original and extremely creative. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Not one of my favorites. I did not like the main character, Anne. She was a bit too dramatic, but trying too hard to be fun loving. I did love her best friend Luis.

I only read 3 pages of this book. I was not interested in this woman's knickers, her stockings, either woman's tits or their waist size. Three pages. That was all. I see why it was free.

This is a comedy mystery series which features Annie McCauley from West Texas. She has gone to New York to make her way as a fashion model, only to thwarted by her lifelong arch enemy. The story begins with Annie get super glued to a toilet seat when she goes for an interview for the job of a lifetime, and the antics continue from there.

Not a laugh out loud kind of book but, one that has trouble say ing "oh no" and " Not again" over and over. A very good lighthearted read
