Sloths is a nonfiction book for students grades K-3 that has different chapters that categorize the learning. There is an established sequence of the book, starting with young sloths and continuing until they are older. There are resources at the end of the book that help the reader gain more knowledge about the subject. There is a glossary and a habitat map. Throughout the book, there are real photographs, diagrams, and labels to help the reader better understand sloths. This book is pairs with Mervin the Sloth is About to Do the Best Thing in the World because it is an entertaining fiction book about a sloth named Mervin. In this book, the author emphasizes on how Mervin moves very slowly to do a task. This book will help students relate to their nonfiction text because they will connect traits specific to sloths.
