Countdown to Crisis: The Coming Nuclear Showdown with Iran

Rate this book
From the nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize 2006:

“The most urgent and disastrous threat to world peace today is the looming danger that Iran will produce nuclear weapons. . . . Kenneth R. Timmerman, a U.S. expert on Iran, has for more than twenty years exposed Iran’s nuclear activities and intentions. . . . Despite the illusions of many in positions of power, he has been right, again and again. His latest book, Countdown to The Coming Nuclear Showdown with Iran , lays out this ongoing scandal in chilling detail.” —Per Ahlmark, former Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, nominating Timmerman for the Nobel Peace Prize

THE REAL ENEMY

Who is the greatest threat to America? The Islamic Republic of Iran.

In his chilling new book, New York Times bestselling author Kenneth R. Timmerman uses his exclusive access to previously classified documents, Iranian defectors and officials, and high-level intelligence sources to lay bare the true nature of the Iranian threat—and America’s failure to deal with the danger.

Crisscrossing the globe, Timmerman takes readers into secret terrorist gatherings in Tehran, tense meetings in the White House, debriefings at an obscure CIA outpost in Azerbaijan, diplomatic face-offs in the Kremlin, and many other dangerous spots to get the complete story on Iran’s radical Islamic regime.

And in a brand-new chapter for the paperback edition, Timmerman reveals that it may already be too late to stop the Iranian regime. For Americans interested in the truth about Iran, Countdown to Crisis may amount to a call for action—or even a case for war.

My first Middle East reporting trip took me to Beirut in July 1982, and I've been going back ever since. I've lived in Egypt and Lebanon, have worked with freedom fighters in Iran and Iraq, and been held hostage by Muslim terrorists in a war zone. You can read an illustrated bio here or download a 1-page author's bio here.

My latest book, And the Rest is History, is a real life adventure story of how I became a hostage, an arms dealer, and an Israeli spy. Dennis Prager called it "a relentlessly interesting book." In my day job, I help victims of terrorism fight the state-sponsors who murdered their loved ones.

I was nominated for the Nobel Peace prize by the former deputy prime minister of Sweden, Per Ahlmark, for my work in exposing Iran's nuclear weapons program.

A good book but clearly out of date, being written three years ago. Too much panic button pushing.

Kenneth Timmerman documents Iran’s Revolutionary Guards interest in developing an effective nuclear weapons program and other WMD capabilities. He reveals how Iranian buying teams are crisscrossing the globe to acquire key nuclear technologies, equipment and materials. He uncovers unexpected responses from US government officials to Iran’s activity. This book is an engaging storytelling account of the determination of Iran’s radical Islamic regime to acquire a nuclear weapons arsenal that would ultimately destroy its archenemies: “the little Satan” (Israel) and “the great Satan” (USA).

This book is eerily accurate. A lot of what I have read in this book has occurred already. I hope that this thing doesn't go nuclear, but it looks as though that is a possibility. Akmajenajad (sp) has already committed to the destruction of the "little satan" (Israel) and has threatened to move to the "great satan" when done with Israel. First strike is the only option.
