The desserts in this book are really beautiful, but I wouldn't call them all "deceptively easy." There's way too much use of fondant for it to be considered easy. The cookie tacos are adorable, if intricate, and I saved the recipe for a special occasion. If you're looking for easy desserts, this cookbook isn't it. If you want modern, beautiful, artful desserts, have at it.
