This sloth pretty much sums up my feelings on this book.

This is a second chance-ish romance for Ryan, FBI agent and Sienna, a sports psychologist. They grew up together and have always had a thing for one another but the timing was always wrong. They went their own ways and haven't seen each other in years. Ryan became an FBI agent and moved to LA. For the past 7 months, he was working under but his cover was recently blown. A few days later, Sienna, who still lives in Keeneston, is on the phone with one of her NFL patients at night and she overhears him being attacked. When the intruder is done attacking he picks up the phone and Sienna stupidly tells him he won't get away with it. And guess what? The intruder knows how to look at a phone and SEE WHO HE'S TALKING TO. Sienna's patient (and friend) dies and Sienna is now a target. Ryan's father, who still lives in Keeneston, tells Ryan that Sienna is in trouble and he is on the next flight there to protect her. A few days later, another of Sienna's NFL patients is attacked. It seems that what Ryan was working on undercover is somehow connecting to what is happening to Sienna's NFL patients. Throw some romance in there and a really annoying small town meddling in there and you have a book.

This book wasn't terrible but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as everyone else. Ryan has this weird chip on his shoulder when it comes to Sienna. He's been carrying around this resentment over the fact that Sienna never really saw him as a man. And that was pounded into my head over and over. It's pretty much all he thinks about for the first 25% of the book. As soon as he sees her, he is determined to sleep with her and finally prove he is a man. A manly man. With man-parts. It was immature and a major turn-off.

The town, though. Super annoying. I understand how small towns work. It was its own character. Everyone was in each other's business and watched out for each other. What bothered was the sheer number of characters mentioned. It was maddening. There must have been thirty characters mentioned and explained. I couldn't keep them straight and it made it hard to care what happened to them. Perhaps it would have been better if there was a chart in the beginning of the book. I could tell that we're supposed to look forward to a bunch of future pairings between characters but I was too confused to form any opinion on who would work well together or even had chemistry. Thankfully, the characters were really charming. They were all different and had very defined personalities. It was nice to read a book set in a small town that wasn't entirely composed of gossiping meddling old ladies. I mean, there were meddling old ladies of course, but they were interesting and had a surprising amount of depth.

The action part of the book bordered on ridiculous. The scenes were all over the place and even someone like me who knows very little about FBI protocol could tell half of the crap that happened really wasn't supposed to happen that way. As in, if that happened in real life you would be fired. Sensitive information was tossed around the town like it was nothing and no one ever called for back-up. It was as if every single person in a fifty-mile radius was TSTL. Every time someone was in danger my eyes rolled so hard. But whatever. It's a romance novel, not a thriller.

I was a little surprised by the fade to black sex scenes. I can't remember the last time I've read a book with fade to black sex. I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed, but it wasn't entirely without steam. It was just more PG-13 than R. As for the actual romance, it was underwhelming. For two people destined to be together, their eventual relationship was surprisingly meh. Ryan was absurdly jealous. And not the book kind of jealous that is really fun to read. The kind of jealousy that just screams insecurity. He might as well have lifted his leg and peed on her shoes.

As for Sienna, she spent 75% of the book convinced that Ryan was going to leave her and wallowed in preemptive self-pity. It didn't exactly make for a heart-fluttering romance.

I'm glad this book was free. It wasn't horrible, but it definitely wasn't great. I don't see myself continuing with the series.

This is meant to be a love story and I kept waiting for there to be something, anything, more than just random events following each other.

I gather from the other reviews that this is part of a location that's been used in other books previously and that people were happy to revisit existing characters who appeared as cameos. Had I read those others I might have been happy about that, too, however as someone reading #1 of a series that's not something I would have expected.

Either way, it's got incredibly cringey dialogue, a boring plot, and no redeeming features. Except the ugly dog maybe. Did they ever fix his broken tail?

I love the Bluegrass series and this is the latest in the Bluegrass world with a new generation of characters. We get to see all the old favourites and now their children are getting their happily ever after (I hope Kathleen writes a story for them all). I thought Ryan and Sienna were sweet and likeable characters, I loved Hootch and I loved seeing the entire town back in everyone's business. I enjoyed the football team aspect of the story and I hope we get to see more of the football players and a happily ever after for Zack and Jaylen in future books. This story is exactly what you would expect from Kathleen so if you are a fan you will love it and if you haven't read any of the previous Bluegrass books you can start with this one and have no trouble but to fully enjoy the experience with all the characters I would suggest you start write at the beginning!

DNF at 20% The man is assigned to protect Sienna, who was a friend of his years ago and whom he hasn't seen for years until this day.

He had come all this way to protect her and she still thought he was a child. He was fuming by the time they reached the security gates. He slammed on the brakes, causing Sienna's eyes to go round. In one quick motion he unbuckled his seat belt and dragged her across the console and into his lap. His lips were hard and demanding as they came down on hers.'

Nope. NO NO NO NO NO

He forced himself on her.

I didn't read any further. I like my heroes to be men. not brutes who think its acceptable to 'drag' a woman into his lap and force his mouth (and tongue) on her. - REGARDLESS of how she reacted after a few moments of his tongue 'plundering her mouth')

There were changes of tense from past to present and back. And Sienna was way too full of her own self-importance.

DNF at 50%.

There are so many problems with this book but the biggest offender is that almost all the characters are too silly and no substance...as in they literally act like kids.

EX: While talking about a terrorist targeting the heroine, in a court room, the other characters make jokes about dicks, sex and hard abs. WTF? I like humor and jokes...but please leave out tackless jokes in serious scenes.

Quick read. The romance is this book just doesn't feel very real. She goes from one minutes getting beat up and kidnapped. To being recused and jumping his bones. Girlfriend, you can barley move let alone go horseback riding.

The mystery and plot is really good, just not Sienna and Ryan!

I actually really enjoyed this story, however I found it hard to follow at times. There was a LOT of people (who must have been featured in the many other story’s in this long running series)
Another thing I noticed with forever entangled is that there is always something going on, it really is one situation right after the other. Sometimes it felt like a lot but it Also kept me entertained and wanting to see what happens next.
*side note I would be more than willing to try another book in this series

So funny and amazing!

All the characters, from the MCs to the supporting cast, were phenomenal. And just a quick word on those supporting characters: never before have I read a book where there was such a huge supporting cast of characters where every single one of them was not only unique, but did not detract from the story. Rather, they enhanced it, often providing comic relief, but mostly proving that the support of your hometown is nothing to sneeze at.

A lovely and engaging story, and I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author.

A nightmare in print! I don't see forever bluegrass in this series... This is one of my final reads for 2016 and for the most part I have enjoyed some pretty good stories. This isn't one of them...I have read a few of the books in the Bluegrass Series and Bluegrass Brothers Series prior to this one and found some of them interesting, even enjoyable. The Forever Bluegrass Series is overloaded with too many characters and damn if those meddling Rose sisters aren't still alive!

Ryan and Sienna are less than interesting on their own so much so that the author continually pulls in characters from the Bluegrass Series and Bluegrass Brothers. It doesn't help. In fact, I think it hurts because those characters were previously clearly defined and had a purpose. In this story they seem dazed and confused and serve no purpose but to find themselves in silly, unrealistic situations that would most likely land them all in jail--reducing them to nothing more than "character clutter". For some reason the author feels compelled to include every character she has ever written in this book.

Lastly, I find it kinda creepy that Sienna and Ryan want to date anyway seeing as how almost everyone in Keeneston appears to be related in some way...Must be a Kentucky thing.

If you are looking for a good read, I can't recommend this one--move on to something that isn't overloaded with characters, a silly, mundane, ridiculous plot and a circus-like atmosphere. It's 279 pages of sheer torture and mercifully I finished!

Going back to Keeneston has always been an amazing experience. Every time I read Kathleen's book that is set on Keeneston, I feel like I am coming home. And Forever Entangled is no different.

I love how Ryan and Sienna's story was like a seed that has been planted, nurtured and allowed to grow and stand the test of time. Stories like theirs always touch a deeper place in my heart. Probably because I am a believer of the love that grows through the years as oppose to instantaneous ones. Plus being in Keeneston and the Rose sister, adding love to the mix is always a great experience. I feel as everyone in the place felt. Like I was there watching new generation of blossoming love and new batch of trouble makers.

The getting to know which kid was a kid of whom may take a while for me to be familiarize with but I have no doubt that I will get there. And of course, getting to enjoy seeing ryan and Sienna achieve their happily ever after, I can't wait to see the rest of them get settled one by one through the magic hands of the matchmaking parents who have no idea that the real magic was still over at the hands of the Keeneston roses.

And oh, I loved Hooch. He made me missed Bob but I guess the fur characters have a new batch to represent them as well and I am also looking forward to how they will play into the life of these new generation of Keeneston.

Alright. I dont know what I'm missing but apparently it's a lot. I see all these 4 or 5 star reviews but i couldnt even finish this... i gave it til 30% til i actually couldn't go any further.
maybe it's because I started here instead of the way beginning which apparently was more then 10 books ago.

The writing style is definitely not to my liking or the smug cockiness of Ryan. Sienna might seem like a solid person but who says that she doesn't want Ryans attention as a pissing contest. it craves it none the less. is she desperate!? what??
maybe if i go back ill give this another go but for now until then its on my DNF list. which is now at 1

Omg I was so excited when I realized what this book was. I absolutely love the Bluegrass series, and now to read about the next generation, it's great. She did an amazing job with the new batch of characters to be introduced in this series. Plus you get to see all the last generation as the help out they're kids. I'm excited to read the rest of this series, plus her Bluegrass single series where the Rose sisters find they're happily ever after, along with Trey and Nabi's.

Forever Entangled is the first book in the Forever Bluegrass series (Bluegrass Book #15) by Kathleen Brooks. ‘Bluegrass’ combines romance and suspense, with a touch of Southern charm.
A few years ago a friend recommended this author, and her many series, to me - as she had devoured every book and absolutely loved them, singing the author’s praises from high from the hilltops. So, being an avid reader who loves discovering new authors and enticing reads, I took my friends recommendations seriously, and started amassing Ms. Brooks many books, with the plan to have a huge binge session/buddy read with my friend. But with so many books on my TBR, and new, exciting ones releasing every week, I always seemed to get pulled into other books- as these just kept piling up.
Since part of my yearly reading challenges for the past few years has been to dust off my TBR pile/s and read the books that have been languishing there the longest, I decided to finally dive in and get the series read. While I did ‘enjoy’ the books for the most part- I didn’t fall madly in love with them as my friend promised that I would. But that’s ok, I am really happy that she loves them as much as she does. But for me, they were just an ‘okay’ read.
With plenty of small-town drama, intrigue, angst, chemistry, humour, community, family, friendship, charm, mystery, tension, danger, emotion, and suspense- the stories are about finding love unexpectedly and love conquering all.
The books can all be read as standalones if you wanted, without feeling ‘lost’ or like you are missing big pieces of the picture. This is because each instalment introduces its own ‘couple’- providing plenty of romance, a dash of suspense, and some sweet development to make your heart flutter.
But I have to be honest, I found there were a few issues which detracted from my overall enjoyment of the stories/series. Such as the ‘wordiness’ which really slowed the flow of the storyline at times, as there was such an overwhelming amount of detail which didn’t really ‘add’ to or propel the story in any way, except to perhaps distract from the plot. I love details, normally- but not when there are pages of descriptions, as things tend to ‘bog’ down and the flow/pace/plot gets lost amongst the detritus- and also leads to some ‘wandering’ storylines. There were also many loose ends, for me- threads that were left hanging, or not fully woven into the storyline- which I found a bit frustrating.
I really wanted to love this series as much as my friend did…. but instead, I was left a little disappointed.
Happy reading! 📚💙

ok... you see, I thought this was the beginning of a serie, but (I mean, it is) but it's not, bear with my I'll explain myself... the first real book is Bluegrass State of Mind, so this is actually book 11 without the novellas (reading order), that's why there are so many couples and references of other people/family that at times gets so confusing that you just need a family tree asap.

My recommendation, if you don't want to start at the very beginning, check out the family trees that are in Kathleen's site: Davies Family & plus more people, that should help to keep up with who is who.

Now, about the story, even though I was really confused with so many names and relationships (I didn't know about the family trees so learn from my mistakes) I actually really enjoyed, the story was cute and had a little action, which let me tell you it wasn't the best, but still the story is really sweet and the relationship between Sienna and Ryan it's so cute, and everybody else it's so endearing that you can overlook some parts that didn't make any sense (you see, I hate using this excuse because I know I'm really good with my English, but there were times that I wasn't sure what was happening, because they were at point A and suddenly they are describing actions that cannot be done or didn't make sense to be done in point A) so maybe was me, maybe not, you can judge for yourself.

Disappointing

I don't like to leave a negative review because I know how hard authors work creating wonderful stories for readers to enjoy but there were a lot of missteps in this book. One of the most glaring was after Sienna was beaten and could barely move but was perfectly fine as soon as she was rescued that evening, having all night sex with Ryan then going for a horseback ride the next day, etc. No mention of black eyes or broken rubs ever again. This oops happened another time in the book where it was just glaringly obvious.

Secondly, there were WAY to many characters inteoduced , many for no apparent reason, and it made it extremely confusing.....so much so that I think the author even got confused on names and who was related or married to who. I thought Ahmed was married to Dani but later said Bridge was his wife who I thought was his daughter??? Still not sure about that one.

The hero, Ryan, was a little fuzzy for me. Was he supposed to be a super tough badass FBI agent? At times, he showed that sides but more times than not he was gulping and sweat g in fear of meeting Sienna's fathe, what his mother was going to do to him for not calling her, etc.

The storyline itself was a bit contrived as to how a case Ryan was working on in LA suddenly ends up in Kentucky. I think Kathleen Brooks is a wonderful author but this book fell short and needed a good, solid, experienced editor to get ahold of it and catch all the errors within the storyline.

While this book may have been a bit disappointing, it will not put me off from continuing to read more of Ms. Brooks books. We all have a bump in the road somewhere and this just seems to be hers.

I absolutely loved Kathleen Brooks’ Bluegrass series and since this is a spinoff of that, I figured I couldn’t go wrong. It’s now the children’s turns to find their happily ever after and we begin with Sienna and Ryan. Sienna is Will and Kenna Ashton’s daughter; Ryan is Cole and Paige Parker’s son. They grew up together, shared their first kiss with one another. Sienna always knew Ryan had a crush on her, but she couldn’t get over the fact he was younger than her by a year. She always looked on him as just a kid. Well, until that one night….But by then, Ryan figured he was over it and done, ready to move on. So he did what every sensible male would do. He runs away to LA to move on with his life. Fast forward about eight years and Ryan gets the call that will change his life. Cole needs Ryan back in KY to look after Sienna; there’s reason to believe her life is in danger. Surely, Cole doesn’t have an ulterior motive, right? Right???

And then there's Hooch! He steals the show in this one. You're gonna love him......

Kathleen Brooks’ writes fast-paced, fun, endearing stories. They are a bit outrageous, just like her characters, but that’s half the fun of it. I also can’t help but love that we’re back in the Bluegrass. It’s home! In fact, my little town is even mentioned in this one. I had to read that part twice. =P

Forever Entangled by Kathleen Brooks is such a good book. It's full of suspense, mystery, and a love story that was a long time coming. These characters are all so lovable and give the reader a sense of home. I loved the family feel of this book and that in the town they lived in, everyone protected and took care of each other.

I've read another of Kathleen's books so I enjoyed getting to be a part of Keeneston again and revisiting the older characters as well as being introduced to newer ones.

Sienna Ashton's character is one to be adored. She's caring, loving, and looks out for her family and friends. I loved how dedicated she was to her patients. She would let them call her day or night if they needed her because she wanted them to be at their best. Her and Ryan made one amazing duo. I loved them together. Ryan comes home to help keep Sienna safe after she hears something she shouldn't have. These two have known each other their whole lives and the love they share is unbreakable. I couldn't help but love Ryan. He's so protective, strong, and just fierce when it comes to Sienna.

So if you love a good mystery filled with lots of love and family, then you'll wanna pick this one up. I give Forever Entangled by Kathleen Brooks 4 out of 5 STARS

Returning to the small town of Keeneston, Kentucky was like visiting old neighbors, family and friends.

Local professional football team Sports Psychologist Sienna Ashton finds herself as a target when one of her clients ends up dead with her a witness via the telephone call they were engaged in when the murder took place.

LA based FBI agent Ryan Parker is soon by her side as her assigned protector under the guise of coming home to help with his Dad's upcoming retirement.

At 5 years old Ryan fell in love with 6-year-old Sienna, once grown he tried to make her see him as more than just a childhood friend without any luck at that time.

Now however Sienna and Ryan both find that their time apart has managed to rekindle the passion they never managed to allow free rein before.

The romance was sweet, the suspense elements were however not cohesive all the way through and the final ending was not exactly rushed but not exactly drawn out long enough either.

One thing is for sure the tried and true themes of family and friendships reigned throughout making this a very enjoyable story to spend time with.

An amazing book! I smiled and laughed and cried and was thoroughly entertained!

I've read some great books lately, but this one was so much fun!
FBI agent Ryan returns home to protect his childhood love Sienna. A terrorist cell has their sights on her to eliminate loose ends! Ryan turns out to also be a loose end!
What the terrorists didn't realize was the town of Keeneston, Kentucky was a close nit town of gossips, interrelated families and a force to be reconned with by outsiders!
It was actually embarrassing when the town busybodies injected themselves in Ryan and Sienna's love spat, but hillarious. Gotta love small towns! Poor Ryan screwed up and took the full force of his hometown disapproval! But those same gossipmongers were their to help save the day for their beloved favorite couple!
So much fun, steamy, pantymelting and tearworthy! I am so excited about this book! I loved it!

It had been a while since I read the Bluegrass and Bluegrass Brothers series. It took me a minute to realize that Ryan, Sienna, and some of the other characters were part of the next Bluegrass generation.

I admittedly did not know who was behind "The Suit" persona, but the other main antagonist was pretty obvious. Knowing that information took absolutely nothing away from the danger or suspense of the story.

As usual, the relationships between family, friends, and the quirky characters of Keeneston only served to enhance the story. In spite of how serious the mystery was, I loved that I was able to count on some lighthearted fun, wit, and humor. With everyone having their own unique and interesting background and skill, there is never a dull moment.

Whether in ebook, paperback, or audiobook format, you can't go wrong. I enjoy the narration so much that I normally have both. This review is for the ebook.

4 stars for the second generation of Keeneston citizen starting with Sienna and Ryan.

They first kissed at age 6,went to school dances and helped each other all through high school. But with one year ahead Sienna always thought of Ryan as too young for her. Now they are thrown back together and FBI agent Ryan has to keep murder witness Sienna save. Good thing a whole town of relatives and friends are fire proofed in such situations.

Bad boys met R. E. D. I laughed so hard through some scenes and loved the crime plot and the relationship dynamic. While for sure a stand alone story I was aware I missed out a little bit without reading about the older couples before. But I surely can rectify that soonishly. Also I enjoyed a book where the story is well enough put together that I wasn't missing any expletive sexy scenes. Back for more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!!

Forever Entangled is a compelling start to the Forever Bluegrass series, mixing romance, mystery, and suspense. Ryan Parker returns to his small hometown of Keeneston, Kentucky, after years of being an undercover FBI agent, only to find Sienna Ashton—his first love—entangled in a deadly situation. This reunion sparks a thrilling journey as they confront past regrets, rekindle old flames, and dive headfirst into a dangerous murder investigation.
The chemistry between Ryan and Sienna is electric, with their emotional baggage and undeniable attraction driving the narrative forward. Kathleen Brooks masterfully builds tension, blending passion with intrigue as the couple navigates the perilous circumstances that threaten not only their love but their lives. The small-town charm of Keeneston adds warmth, making this romantic suspense a captivating read.
