Beyond Today

Rate this book
Life on the Kansas prairie is hard and unpredictable, and death can be a frequent visitor. As a result, Amy Carmichael has learned never to live beyond today. She works diligently helping their parents on their farm, and she never plans for the future.

All that changes, though, when she meets Tyler Andrews, the new circuit rider. But will Tyler return to Amy's twin sister Angie? Amy knows from experience that men seem to prefer Angie, and for the time a wedge of jealousy seperates the sisters.

Love on the Kansas prairie is hard and unpredictable...but it is also as inevitable as an early summer cyclone.

A bit more tension and suspense than I'm used to but, a delightful book outside of that section!  These twins couldn't be more opposite!  I was a bit surprised at the timing of the first kiss, and how fast the romance went with him being gone so much with the circuit preaching work.  I think they got engaged after only a few visits.  Talk about a whirlwind romance!  But when God tells you who your future will be with, why wait?

Not my favorite. The writing style was lacking for me. I also found it highly unlikely a circuit preacher would lure a young lady away to steal kisses the 1st day he met her back in Frontier times. That kind of ruined the story from the get-go for me. There is a strong faith element, maybe a bit too strong because it's almost unnaturally contrived.
I purchased this book from Thrift Books and it appears in a novella collection called The Farmer's Daughter published by Barbour.

This was my favorite book out these series so far. The last five chapters kept me intrigued until the very end. It really showed that you need to have faith and things will work out how they should and will.
