Gunshots filled the air for about thirty minutes straight. The marines had absolutely nowhere to go or hide for that matter. The insurgents had taken advantage of the sandstorm to breach their security and were now causing hell on earth upon the US soldiers.
Eric wasn’t having any of it. Pinned in the trenches with his best friend Paul and the rest of the seals, he was left with no choice but to ask his friend to use his powers.
“Bro, it’s the only way we are going to get out of here alive!” he shouted over the hail of bullets that whisked over his head.
Paul was a werewolf alright, but he was more than determined to keep it a secret. He had found a good life in the military and wanted to keep it that way. Besides, he had found love and also managed to control his turning and was happy. But in as much as he wanted to keep it a secret, Paul felt as though the death of his troops was his fault because there was something he could do about it.
“Man, you are given that power for a reason. I suggest you use it!”
That was what Paul needed to hear. And without further ado, he growled and his eyes glowed. It was clearly time to kick some insurgents’ ass. He immediately jumped into the line of fire and begun mercilessly massacring the terrorists.
Once Paul was gone, Eric saw that Jessica was on the other side of the trench. She didn’t say a single thing. This was just way too much for her to take. Jessica didn’t really have to say a damn thing for Eric to know that she was mortified. All this time she had no idea she had been romancing with a werewolf!!
