Mittens in the Boundary Waters by Larry Ahlman. I borrowed this book from the Gooseberry Falls cabin. The description says "you'll shudder as you watch the dream slowly die and turn into his worst nightmare". This is true. Recommended....IF you like to read about people setting their own compound fractures in a cabin in the BWCA. Twice.
It was a fun read - I'm probably a bit older than the target audience, but I've got to give props to anyone who writes without forcing this novel to be something that it didn't need to be - pretty much just a straightforward adventure story, as if it had been written in 1935.
