There are so many kinks that happen in this novella that are near and dear to me-CBT, flogging, edging, drooling cocks...oops, I'm getting off track. What I'm trying to say is we all have our kinks and this author's kink is orgasm denial. Totally fine. No judgments. She does it well. It just doesn't make me weak-kneed the way others do. I'm a giver! >:D

Eight days without an orgasm is just cruel, isn't it? Not even a milking? C'mon! That's just mean. Though it was somewhat effective in knocking the wind out of the brat sails.

My main issue and why I was resistant to reading this is writing style. I can only take so much sweetness and then I feel like I'm going to contract diabetes. Admittedly it is tamped down in this story, but it's there in the stilted dialogue and drab characterizations. I'm also not a fan of all the protocols and formalities of BDSM with positions and outfits and whatnot. Again, no judgments against it or those that LURVE IT, it's just not something that typically holds my interest.

Nutshell: it's me not the book as other reviews will attest.

A quick and fun read about detectives Gylam Connelly and Jackson James who are partners both at the station and at home. Jackson is also Gylam's Dom and attempts to keep his unruly sub in line during a particularly stressful time at work.

There is punishment and cock cages galore as Gylam finds his cock in lockdown. What is clear throughout is the love these guys share for each other, their connection and enjoyment of their BDSM relationship.

Plot and sex did not overpower each other. Loved the characters, the two policemen, an established couple, who are partners at work and in life (not sure how realistic it is, tho, a married couple working together).

Very hot read! The only minus - this story begs a prequel. and a sequel. preferably two :D

I really enjoyed reading a story with an already established couple. Gylam and Jackson were great together. I also found the cop/crime angle well written and engaging.

Contains a delicious line up of; Orgasm denial, edging, clamps, flogging, a violet wand, use of a cock-cage... and cough cough, runs off to google an 'iron maiden' used to assist with male orgasm denial.

Well done, Ms Duncan. I'm sure the person who prompted your muse will be happy with the story that unfolded.

Another entry in the 2015 Bound by Ink event. It is a story about two cops that are partners at work and at home. They use BDSM to ground the one partner, and being sexually frustrated as a way to handle stress. If it works for them... It was a nice read, even if I found their motives a bit dodgy. 3.5 stars

Fans of M/M, D/s, edging, orgasm denial, chastity, and BDSM used to help a person get through challenges will likely enjoy this free story! This is different from many works of romance and erotica I've read in several ways. The two protagonists are an established couple, but the plot isn't about them struggling to stay together or anything. It almost feels like a kinky "slice of life" type story. Yes, there was a fuckup leading to a punishment, but I never feared they'd break up over it. And yes, given the current trial, what's going on is serious stuff, but given the danger inherent in their careers, this is really a snippet of their lives together (to me anyway).

And as I've come to expect from Grace Duncan, this is well written and very sexy. It was fun to get a glimpse of these two and I'd like to see more of them.

I liked this story, but I didn't love it.

The BDSM elements in the story were up to par and the author did a good job describing the setting and the events the couple partake on.

I think my problem was with the story structure. It felt more as a book excerpt than an independent story. Almost as if the reader gets to see chapter 5 without knowing what happened before and with no hope of knowing what happens afterward.

Also, I had trouble liking Jackson since we passed most of the story in Gylam's head and he just give us one or two sentences about his husband/Sir here and there.

Overall, the story is entertaining, well-written, and smexy. It just didn't work for me.

Short and hot, this free story about Gylam and Jackson is definitely kinky, but also full of love. The two detectives are work partners, husbands, and both in the lifestyle. I thought it was interesting to see the effect Gylam's submission had on him, how pleasing his Dom made him relax and deal with stress better. Of course, he gets a lot of pleasure out of what they do together as well, but he additional focus even during work hours was an interesting side effect.

If you like your BDSM safe, sane, and consensual, if two men who enjoy the sweet and loving as much as the kinky and painful, and if you're looking for a read that showcases a lot of different BDSM techniques and their effects on the sub, then you will probably like this one.

Ok, so I bumped it up to 5 stars!!!
It's a short in the Bound by Ink series - an event by the BDSM group.

The story is short but has enough plot to pull us in and to let us understand what happens between the MCs.
We have 2 hot cops here - one of them, Gylam, is working on a serial killer case. The case is almost closed - he only needs to testify at the final proceedings - but with all the prior difficulties connected with this particular case, Gylam is stressed out and completely out of control.

And Jackson, Gylam's cop partner, husband and Dom does whatever he can to ease some tension out of his sub...

I'm talking about chastity play here, Ladies, I know some of you like it!!! ;)
Anyway - it's a delicious, kinky as hell, hot and extremely sexy short read.
We've got all the toys as well: cock cages, nasty cock and ball rings, chest harnesses, butt plugs with harnesses, floggers, paddles, nipple clamps - take your pick! :D
I loved the way Gylam and Jackson interacted, I loved Jackson's care and Gylam's appreciation of it all.
