The final book in the Brownstone trilogy takes place about 7 years after the events in The Bloodstone. Chandal married her agent Ron and now lives in California and they have a 6 year old girl. Chandal never likes to discuss the past, even with Ron, so the nasty events in NYC that happened lie buried; or do they?

Chandal and Ron's daughter Kristy, while bright and cute, always behaved a bit strangely, sometimes hearing voices, occasional nightmares, and at times almost catatonic states. Ron's agency has hit the skids, with both the economy and the actor's strike curtailing his income. Nonetheless, they decide to take a month vacation, exploring the Rockies and so forth via their car. Why there? It seems Kristy has some desire to go there and so does Chandal. Ron keeps having nasty dreams of some rock formation and death, but so it goes. Well, they end up in Utah in the sticks when their wagon has a blowout. The only town around, Brackston, has a garage, but they have to order the tires. Looks like they are stuck for a bit.

Brackston, an insular town to say the least, obviously has something going down. The rock formation Ron dreamt about looms over the town, and Kristy and Chandal love the place. Ron just wants to split, but something seems to have a hold on the ladies...

I found this installment to be a bit of a hot mess. Largely from Ron's POV, he seems to be suffering from odd dreams and hallucinations for a good part of the novel, giving the story a rather dreamy/surreal feel. What is actually happening and Ron's perceptions did keep me guessing, but Eulo did not pull this off very well. Like the previous installments, Eulo tried to pack too many horror tropes into one novel. Devil worshipers? Witches? Black Magic? This one has it all in spades! Finally, the denouement? Please. 2.5 OTT stars, rounding up for GR.

Rosemary's Baby goes The Wicker Man. Fantastic 3rd part of the saga. Incredibly tight story you can't put down. The crufification scenes are extreme horror. Suspense is phenomenal. Chandal, Kristy and Ron are in real danger here. A whole town is against them. What a town of demon worship in Utah. Terrific novel. Absolute recommendation!

Forgettable, uninteresting cult horror. Skip it.

Seven years after the events of The Bloodstone, the cult of Ahriman has a new plan for Chandal Knight and her family.
Worthy follow-up to the first two novels of the series. This time, a peculiar little town in the Utah desert becomes the backdrop for a long-awaited reckoning. Well-written horror tale with memorable characters and events.
