Down in the city’s underbelly, Noah, a smart-mouthed combat fighter, has been sold against his will to Dream Scenarios, an exclusive organisation specialising in body-switching technology. Stripped of his freedom and forced to cater to the whims of the elite, Noah cannot resign himself to life as a puppet of Dream Scenarios and its wealthy clientele.
IN A WORLD OF INJUSTICE, DEFIANCE IS THE ONLY OPTION.

I received this an ARC of this book and was dubious. From the title and blurb the plot seemed obvious so I wasn't expecting much. Happily, I was wrong. I've not come across a story with a similar theme of trasplanting minds into another body for profit. It's definately interesting and my reason it didn't get 5 stars is I'd love to see it from one of the Doctors point of view who do the procedure; what are the ethical and moral consequences and how does the procedure work? Again when it all crumbles how are they brought to justice? I'd happily read about the trial of the company.
Again I have more questions with the dystopian world it's set in. It's categorised into 4 levels ranging from the uber rich to the impoverish, with each level stacked on top of one another. What about the middle two we don't hear about? What if someone moves between the levels, how do they fit into this society?
I'd happily read a spin off or sequel. *hint hint.
This was a very interesting book, it was captivating and gripping with the right amount of humor to tie everything together. I loved the protagonist (I had some trouble picturing him, as his features were not really described well throughout) but his sassiness and willingness to never give up brought warmth to a book in a very hard setting.
The plot was something I have never read before, and as for dystopias, this didn't read like a soppy YA one with a female lead and a love triangle. Noah was different, I often got very frustrated with his decisions, but the fact he was tough and broke down frequently was not a stereotype I was used to.
If anything, I guessed the ending when I couldn't guess anything else. The book had so many twists and turns that put me on edge throughout and I couldn't put it down. The last few chapters kinda made me think "Was that it?" but it was written very cleverly and so well thought out I forgave the author very quickly.
The language/spelling could be a barrier to some people, but I appreciated the fact it was based on a character with no education or literary skills, it brought something else that was very impressive.
If I had to be extremely picky (which is hard to do when i enjoyed this book a great deal) I would say I didn't like the romantic subplot. It was unnecessary and I felt Sarah wrote it because she didn't feel the main plot was substantial enough. The plot was incredible, it was durable and persistent all throughout. I am hugely excited for the sequel (if there will be one?) but i'm mainly just hoping for it to focus on Noahs story rather than a love triangle or more heterosexual relationships.
This book was great, it read like a action packed movie, it was a strikingly different dystopian novel based on capitalism and the scarcity of poverty. It had radiant dialogue filled with witty comebacks and I would love to see it grow and become the popular book it deserves to be.
I received this book for free through a Goodreads giveaway. Defiance is a very descriptive book which kept my attention throughout. There were times when I felt apprehensive when reading about Noah and the situations he faced (I won't give any details in this review as I do not wish to give away any spoilers) in the same way I get apprehensive when watching a thriller film/tv programme, which meant that I did not want to put the book down! Can't wait to read the next installment.
I loved, loved, loved this book. It is not my normal style of book but I could not put it down! The main character in this book captivated me from beginning to end, cannot wait for the next instalment from this talented writer.
brilliant, gripping and challenging book! Lots in there for readers of all ages. I loved the main character, Noah, and can't wait to read the next installment.
This was such an interesting book. I have no words to express how much I spellbound to it.. with the sarcasm Noah used against his handlers were amazing. And for sure this book will be remain on top book list forever. And I really like the way author didn't use too much romance make this book attractive. Only the way it was the best way to this book and Noah is such a young fat mouth character. I won't be any surprise if anyone asks from the author to write the second part cz I'm really willing to read it and eager to know how this Noah will end up in his future..❣️In love with this book
