Widowed single Mom Jenna decides a new start is in order, but pretends her dead husband is still alive in order to find a keep a job without having to endure advances by men too much like her dead husband. When her new boss seems to be one of those rare decent people, she's tangled up too much in her web of lies she told him.
Responsible Jackson runs the family firm and soon falls for Jenna when she starts working for him. As much as he appreciates her professional abilites, he's much rather she were not married, because he can get neither her nor her two adorable children out of his head - and heart.
A good plot, storytelling at its best, and very likeable and realistic protagonists facing and finding solutions for their problems, and facing burdens from past - enough twists and turns in this story to elevate it from a run-of-the-mill romance. I found it difficult to put this aside - there was so much insight into the characters' fears and joys and desperation, I had the feeling I know persons like that, that I could identify with some of their reactions, actions, and dialogues.
A great first book in this series, and I can hardly wait to put my hands on the next one.
