HER ALIEN SAVIOR An alien soldier without emotions.
Finn is three quarters Asazi and one quarter human. He's a lieutenant in the Asazi army and his desire is to be the best soldier he can. He's spent a lifetime denying his human side, only to find out that now it makes him key to a mission on Earth. A mission that includes Marissa Sanchez, Target 41, a determined, smart-mouthed spitfire that brings out emotions his Asazi nature rejects.
A human woman with a target on her.
Marissa's dream is to keep her restaurant from being seized by ruthless developers. She's broke, out of options, has a deadline, and a cheating ex who offers to marry her and solve her financial problems. Everything changes when a guy named Finn saves her life and provides a completely different kind of option.
HIS HUMAN HELLION Emotions wreak havoc on an Asazi soldier when he discovers the human he loves is pregnant with the child that could kill her.
Finn has a new mission. Save Marissa. Any way he can. That's no easy task when Marissa is the most stubborn, headstrong woman--correction--human he's ever met.
A spitfire Texan finds herself in love with a man who isn't supposed to have emotions, and isn't even a man, except, he's more man than any man she's ever met before. And now she's pregnant with his child. A child that could kill her.
Marissa jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire when she fell in love with Finn. Now he says the only way to save her life is to take her to his planet? I don't think so.
I thought the first book was good! This book had so many surprises and twists along the way it was incredible! It kept me on the edge of my seat as I read just wondering what the next surprise and/or twist would be next, and how much more I would learn about these Aliens/humans on their next endeavor! This is one of those series that you just have to buy them all at once because as soon as you finish one you just have to pick up the next one and continue on with their journey!
I actually found that I like books about aliens. Finn and Marissa have been thru a lot in this book. Finn finds his father unexpectedly while trying to save Marissa. Can't wait for the next book.
This particular book was listed as 'new adult' which I haven't seen many books labeled as, so I was curious as to how the book would play out. I always feel bad when I rate any book below a 4 star but I have to say that I just couldn't really get into this book mentally or emotionally. I was originally going to list is as a 2 star but then when I got to the end and read the excerpt for the next book in the series I was curious as to what was going to happen next. That by itself earned an extra star putting it at a 3.
The idea behind the book was actually pretty good. I would have liked a little more back story into the Asazi people, but I found the concept of them being part angel with chameleon like qualities pretty cool. I especially liked how they changed colors based off of their emotions, which the synopsis claims the species not to show/have (but you see it throughout both stories).
Now on to my biggest issues with the book. Maybe I was just dazing in and out as I was reading the book (though I'm pretty sure that I wasn't) but it felt as if the story, while a great concept, fell short of the greatness that it could have been. Things didn't always feel as if they lined up, some events moved to fast (i.e. the love between the characters wasn't really believable to me), and specific detailed felt jumbled and not quite thought out completely. For example, in the beginning when Finn is at Marissa's appartment. A scene starts of with her being dressed in a tank top but then mentions her top as button up. Another scene has her putting on jeans but then, when the characters are about to get all hot for each other, it mentions her taking off a sundress instead. My OCD self had a hard time with pieces/details getting mixed up. Also a lot of the conversations between characters felt as though they were having the same words repeated consistently, like they were running in circles.
Then there is the main female character, Marissa. UGH! This female!! It is very rare that I come across a book heroine that I dislike as much as I did her. She was extremely whiny and apparently not too bright when she decides it's a great idea to go visit her fathers grave when she knows that someone is still hunting her. Are people really that obtuse in real life? Yeah we all have our bad days but she come across as selfish and preferred to boil in her pissed-off pity party depression. For me personally, it was hard to relate to such a negative attitude character or even feel any besides agitation towards her. On top of her attitude issues, she annoyingly asks the same question over and over when she argues or if someone says something she doesn't like. "What's that about?" And then there's the secret keeping! UGH!!!
I have to be honest and say that I would have loved this book way more had the heroine been more likeable. But while I didn't care for her, I will read the next books which are supposed to be more so about other characters that have been introduced in these first books.

Humans falling for HUNKY aliens......what's not to like ?!!
This is a two book set. The first book features Marissa and Finn. Marissa's human and Finn is Asazi (and part human). Finn's world is dying and in an attempt to save his race he set's off on a mission to find and gather suitable women to help re-populate the Asazi race. Annnnnnnd end up on earth, what a hardship for the human female population !.
Continuing....Marissa and Finn meet and fall for each other. Finn's trying really hard not to snatch Marissa against her will and whisk her off to his world.
Just when you think this love affair will be fine......Marissa is kidnapped, taken against her will and ends up on Kormia. You guessed it Finn didn't do the taking !!!!
Enter now book 2....the race to save Marissa for diabolic deed's following banishment !! There are lots of twist and drama. My tiny bug about the books were there where a few oversights in the descriptions. Nothing that made me want to volley my kindle, but for those readers like me who very much pay attention to details.......it annoyed. There is nothing worse that some-one's eye colour changing or one minute their hair is brown, then next its blonde (These are just my examples). If the little slip's get sorted then this book would have rocked a 5 Galactic bada*s Stars from me.
Also it ends on a cliffy.....groan !!! Brighter note book 3 is already on my Amazon wishlist....yay !!!
I was provided a copy of Ultimate Passage Worlds Volume one via Net Galley. It is also available on Kindle Unlimited.
The weirdest thing happened, Lissa told me "grab this book you'll like it", so I honestly didn't even really read the blurb I just requested it. Well a little ways into it I was like "wait a minute, I've read this before!" Sure enough a scout through my good reads account I read book 1 Her Alien Savior back in 2014. I gave it a 2.
Unfortunately my opinion hasn't really changed. I was never able to fully connect with the characters. There are some parts of the story that are really exciting and the pace is high, then it just fizzles out. And honestly gets a bit boring.
Book two started off better and I was really digging the direction we were headed. Even though Marrissa dose some asinine things, oh lordy. I still never connected with her character. But it was better until the entire Saraz story line started. It's not that I was confused, because I wasn't. I just didn't like how the book went from an alien book to something completely different (I won't spoil it).
So unfortunately my original assessment of two stars from 2014 stands. It was OK but could have been better. I won't be reading book 3 and 4....Sara
Ms Thorne started with a good idea for a story and plot and started strong. Where I give it a 3 instead of a 4 is in execution of some crucial things. First, an editor was in need to catch the inconsistencies. For example Finn is not good at controlling his emotions because of his human side and then later he is better at controlling his emotions than most other Azasi because of his human side and then again he's bad at it. Frustration for a reader. Also, there were inconsistencies with "props". For example Marissa is wearing jeans when she goes out on her first "date" with Finn but during an up close and personal interaction between Marissa and Finn, she's wearing a sun dress. One final thing that I found off putting as a way to drive the plot is in the second book when Marissa knows its dangerous to go back to TX and alone and despite promising not to do so, she does and bad things then happen to her. I find myself not liking her and thinking she got what was deserved for her childish actions.
Ultimate Passage by Elle Thorne is one story containing book 1 and two of the series. Book 1 is Her Alien Savior, featuring Finn and Marissa. This book I found to be a bit boring for the first several chapters. I didn't see it really get interesting until about the middle. Once Marissa and Finn get together we get to see those sizzling sparks and some great sex!
Book 2 is His Human Hellion and is the continence of Marissa and Finn's story. I think this book had a lot more going on then in the first one. I liked the tension between these two as they struggle through some betrayals and deal with some still glorious sex. It is a lot more action-packed and intense then book 1 and that made for one heck of a good story.
I loved the fact that there was TWO books in ONE story! The characters were fun and spirited and definitely interesting and the sex was delicious and HOT! I give this overall story a VERY FINE FOUR SHOOTING STARS!
*** Received a copy via NetGalley for an honest review. Elle Thorne's "Ultimate Passage Worlds Volume One: Limited Edition Book One and Two" is intense, action packed, and has a intricate storyline along with a passionate romance. In book one, Marissa and Finn meet as Marissa is trying to save her restaurant from developers buying the land it sits on. Finn, a solider from another world, has been sent to Earth to help gather women to help save his dying race. Finn, who is part human, falls for Marissa and does everything he can to not have kidnapped as part of mission. Marissa is equally entranced with Finn. Their romance could have consequences to both their worlds. Book two has Marissa captured and taken to Finn's world only to be banished to the wilds. Finn at the same time is desperately trying to get to Marissa before something bad happens to her. A really good read that will make you want to find out what could happen next.
The book's premise was interesting, though full of mystery. These two books make up half of the series and there is still a bunch I don't know. Don't get me wrong, as the story progresses you find out more, but then you also have more questions. I don't know about other people- but for me there was a bit too much emphasis on sex in these books, especially regarding a new character in the second book. Though I personally would have preferred this aspect to have been more downplayed (again, more so in the second book), I'm sure it wouldn't bother plenty of people. For this reason I would have probably been fine not finishing the series, yet I feel compelled to do so, so that I can more fully understand how everything came to be. To be clear- the book is not confusing, there are just aspects of this different world that have yet to be explained and it feels like it was done very much on purpose. I would imagine that everything will be revealed in time.
I think this is a terrific book! Marissa is a human and Finn is an Asazi sent here to get her. However he is part human and is attracted to her. This story has lots of action. The first book is about them getting together on Earth and the second is about him looking for her on Kormia. There is so much love and passion between these two.I got really caught up with these characters and the storyline. It is very erotic. I definitely recommend this. I received this in exchange for an honest review.
Book 1: This was a pretty interesting story. I enjoyed the characters and the journey they have taken me on. I'm looking forward to reading the next story. (Sorry review's so short. Major migraine right now. I'll try to write more another time.)
Book 2: I enjoyed this story. I admit it took a while to read but, that's due to life getting in the way of my leisure time. The story expanded on what we learned in the first story of the characters and their homes. We are introduced to more characters and the plot deepens and grows more intriguing. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
Alien invasions and harvesting Earth women? Wow, at the end of the first volume there are so many cliffhangers that I must get the Volume Two to find out what happens! So far so good!
