Joseph Richard Evener (Joe) is a writer, teacher, and coach from Sunbury, Ohio. He has been married to his wife, Bronwen, since 1982.

Joe and Bronwen have two sons, Joseph Richard II (Joey) and Jacob Ryan. Jacob has two sons, Jacob Ryan II (Jake) and Jamison Rocky.

He is a 9th grade World History teacher for Big Walnut High School in Sunbury, Ohio. As well as being the head coach of Big Walnut's girls' track and field team.

In June of 2005, Joe began playing with the idea of creating a new world, and writing his book series. He credits movies such as "Gladiator," "BraveHeart," "The Terminator," "King Arthur," the television shows "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and "Angel," and the books, "The Lord of the Rings," "The Hobbit," "Treasure Island," and "The Chronicles of Narnia" as inspirations for his book series.

Joe has written three of the scheduled seven books in his The Heart of Seras series, a YA fantasy series:
Journey to Seras - fall 2013
The Elders - summer 2015
Revelation - spring 2018
The Dark Warrior - scheduled for summer 2021

When not writing The Heart of Seras series, Joe is also working on a murder mystery novel, an adult fiction novel, and a middle grade fantasy trilogy. Outside of coaching and writing, he also enjoys traveling, nature, and taking long walks.
