Years of studying never prepared me for the test that is Blake Hunter.I was never supposed to be the "it" girl. The girl the hot billionaire wants to spend his free time with. The girl he wants to eat, err, take to eat in Paris. The girl he takes on a private jet to Aspen to be around his insufferable friends. The girl who has paparazzi outside her humble two-bedroom apartment.I'm just an intern trying to get a decent job in this market. The problem? When Blake sees me, I go from wallflower intern to the object of his billionaire desire. No HR needed. The only things that are needed, you may ask? Discretion, saying yes, and being a good girl. The only problem is that I'm not sure I can do this, and Blake isn't willing to just let me go easily.I just pray he doesn't keep a hold on me for too long. I pray I'm not taken by him.Taken by You is a complete, HEA billionaire romance trilogy.

I found myself skipping entire sections of the story because it was fully describing stuff that slowed the progress of the story. Why do i need need to know everything she saw everytime she took the bus when it had zero to do with plot development? The happens A LOT in all three stories. Take all of that everyday drivvel out and it would be a dramatic, page turning single book. Yep. Thats how much extra fluff is in the book. Also, the secondary characters fell flat. Nicolette was a huge part of the heroine's life until she got a boyfriend and then suddenly she's a background character the heroine ignored. They were more like roommates than best friends. Also, Blake's big secret was given a chapter and wrapped up so neatly that it wasnt even dramatic. 3 books of build up as to why he was so cold before he met Penny and it was so anticlimactic that it could have been skipped entirely.
This book needs a heavy professional edit to trim the excess fat to drive the storyline. Right now, it reads so slow and yawnworthy that i just couldnt wait for it to be over. As is, I was so underwhelmed, I forgot the heroine's name until halfway through this review.
I really wouldn't waste your time reading these books. I hate leaving bad reviews but I didn't see the point of these books. I think I've seen another review that said it could of been just one book and I really agree with that. I was reading these books hoping that something exciting would happen but it never did the constant explaing everything got really annoying and I just started skipping it I really didn't need to know what every meal look and tasted like. Spoiler alert!! It took 3 books for him to ask her to be his girlfriend. I was being nice giving these books 2 stars
Trilogy moves to slow. Couldn't get past the second book.
Author holds onto one thought and replays it over and over and over again from two different point of views. The writing was very juvenile,. You are reading about two adults whose thoughts are on repeat like someone in junior high. Could easily be cleaned up, shortened and a much better story.
The story behind this was good but I think the author kept repeating info to maybe make up more words. Also someone like Blake wouldn’t have said or thought some of the things he said (what a teenager would say or think). Also we didn’t need to know every step of a bus journey or who was sat on the bus with her, along with all the extra aspects of the classes she took too much trivial details for my personal choice. Also someone with a sex room like Blake had would have wanted her in there so many more times during their “agreement “ Could have been a shorter series had you taken away the trivial info, didn’t mark below a 3 as like to give an author a chance.
The first book was really good. I really loved were it was going with a play room, with Blake and Penny and the twist to their relationship and couldn’t wait to start the next in but the second two books were irrelevant. I never give like to give spoilers but this is just two books of dragging out them getting back together. The writer goes into so much detail about everything going on but there is no story. I actually skimmed the last book just in case there was something unexpected but sadly not.
I skimmed through most of the three books. A lot of details about day to day things that added nothing to the story .
The characters were barely developed and there was no real intensity between them.
I only kept reading as I was HOPING for something to catch fire for me and make the story interesting, but it ended with the lackluster that was rampant throughout all three books.
I WAS TAKEN FOR AN EMOTIONAL RIDE. I picked book up as a whim. It was recommended to my by Amazon. I thought it was a 50 shades wanna be but I was wrong. Blake and Penny are charismatic charters that are developed with great skill and love. You can’t help but cheer for them as they deal with each other. The author makes you feel all emotions. Great read.
The wording and dialogue in this book is too formal. The characters seem very stiff, unemotional and unrealistic. This book feels like it was written by someone who has very little experience with actual relationships. If I am going to read a billionaire romance novel I want to feel wowed and wooed by him. This book is very underwhelming
I love this trilogy, however, i felt as thought their relationship (although not stated) was further along than it showed. Their actions and words led me to believe that Blake would ask penny to move in as they both hated being away from each other. I was hoping the trilogy would have included more “play room” & exploring more sexually.
Penny was a mild person. No frills, no drama and no secrets. Blake was a rich man who appeared to have no soul. Turns out both wanted a change in their life and when the opportunity came, Blake was scared and untrusting. Penny to trusting and was taking advice from the wrong person, her girlfriend. The story was drawn out. What happen with Shantel?
Billionaire meets girl. has a couple of disagreements. The end. Stilted writing that I found really weird in style. I love my books but the character of Blake, starting off as Alpha quickly faded to...well a bit of a drip to be honest. Penny was pretty vacuous. Sorry for the negativity. I was waiting for something...anything to happen. In vain. Honestly? Don't bother!
Didn't like the h, Penny very much. She basically prostitutes herself but gets mad at a party over something silly. Needs better editing. There was a lot of internal thoughts and writing. Needed more actual conversations. Ending was very abrupt. Needed more details and closure.
I recommend this book. It is a nice easy read. I loved Penny and Blake's relationship.. It was filed with romance and great sex scenes - but not to many that you skip pages...
This book was A bit of A letdown, the story dragged, the man didn't seem to be focused on her pleasure,in this type of book that is very important, about 85% of women can get mediocre sex in real life,I'm glad I didn't buy this book
Please. . . . The characters are underdeveloped and uninteresting. The dialogue is so weak I just cannot read any more. Are there really three books? I had to give up during the first poorly written sex scene. . . Oh baby, oh baby. . . Just no!
This was a pretty good series. There were a few grammatical issues, but you could read around them. My main complaint was the ending. With a little more time and thought, the ending could have been really good. As it was, it felt rushed and abrupt.
I try to give good ratings but this trilogy was slow and superficial... I read three books to have that ending? Really? So disappointed will never read this author again. I would not recommend this author or set of books!
What I really enjoyed the most about this story were the little details. Some stories progress faster than others and skip the small details. I enjoyed the slow pace of Blake and Penny's relationship. It seemed more realistic.
I wasn’t into this book. I gave it my best shot, but found myself wanted to start something else. I didn’t like the characters. Penny was annoying and did anything he asked he to. I didn’t believe his instant connection with her and just wasn’t enjoying the story at all.
I have never given a book a bad review. But I feel like this book could have been a standalone instead of a trilogy. It had way too much filler stuff. I found myself skipping pages. It was a cute story though. But I did not particularly like the end.
Set of 3 well-built books. Blake and Penny are from different worlds but they do everything they can to be together. Despite some difficulties in their path, they manage to overcome things naturally.
