Taylor works as a professional copy writer, creating marketing content for such clients as Microsoft, IBM, SAP, Google, Advanced Micro Devices, and Lockheed Martin. Previously, he served as Social Software Evangelist for IBM Software Group and Public Relations Manager for Microsoft’s SharePoint Technologies. Hugh is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley’s Law School and Graduate School of Information. The Entrepreneurial Press Release is a brief reference book that provides the readers useful information in developing and submitting press releases to advance the reputation of an organization.

At about 50 pages, this book provides many of the so-called key secrets that one could easily find on their own through Internet searches and reading the variety of blogs and articles dedicated to the subject. Yet, this book provides valuable information regarding style and distribution ideas for those without the time or energy to locate the same information on their own. For me, I found the appendices useful, as they contain a good press release template and checklist.

With an MBA from Harvard University, Hugh Taylor has written a variety of books such as Paradigm Lost in 2015 and those about travel, such as the Lebanon Travel Pack, 4th in 2010. He also owns his own marketing and advertising consulting company, and has created content for Fortune 500 companies.

The Entrepreneurial Press Release is useful primer on writing and distributing press releases, and beneficial for those who don’t know where to start and don’t have the time to research the information on their own.

A good little book on writing press releases geared mainly toward businesses. It would be useful to non-profits and charitable organizations as well as youth and service groups. This was a free review copy obtained through Goodreads.com.
