This book had information that I haven't seen in other books on the Niagara. It covered the Niagara at the brink thoroughly. There was nothing on Motorboat or Strawberry Islands. I really would have liked to have seen a map with the canals, islands, and rivers marked on it.

I read this book because i am going back and reading about places I've traveled. This was an informative and detailed book about the history of Niagara Falls and the Niagara region of New York (mentions are made of the Canadian side but that is not the focus). Unfortunately, I struggled to get through it because of the vast level of detail described about things like bridges. This may have been my fault because it was in the description. I appreciated the author's commitment and research to complete the book, but it felt more academic than meant for casual reading.
