Three Is Not A Crowd

Why would anyone think three was a crowd?

No. No. No. No. No.

Three is a triangle…

and did you know it’s the strongest geometrical shape?

All the best things come in threes…

Musketeers, primary colors, three-ringed circuses, stooges, blind mice, little pigs. The list goes on.

Of course they say trouble comes in three too…

but we won’t go there… or will we?

**giggle** There’s three sheets to the wind.

And **sigh… drool** there’s three piece suits.

And trust us, it’s no coincidence that there are three ingredients in a BLT.

Or only three elements to the game Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Want to get physical???

Well, there’s… three-legged races… (what were you thinking?)

Political? Of the people, by the people, for the people.

Or creepy? Hear no evil. Speak no evil. See no evil.

Why, three has so much going for it we don’t even need to mention a…

1………… 2………… 3………… sandwich

(substitute your own dream guys)

And of course, there’s: On your Mark. Get Set. And Go!

So Go! Read the short stories in…

Overall 3 stars!! I do love to read threesome action, so when I found this anthology I was beyond excited... but like all anthologies it was a mixed bag. 🤔 Nevertheless despite a few subpar stories, some were quite unique and enjoyable. I would certainly like to read other books by these authors.
BAD Boys (Lily Velden) - 3.5 stars. Humorous and steamy at times.. wish it was longer. 😉
Me, Callum and Dingoman (Asta Idonea) - 2 stars. I didn't really get the superhero vibe from Dingoman. Also didn't understand whether it was serious or satire. 🤔
Knowing How He Feels About You (Eric Gober) - 4 stars. Wonderful build-up and although with medium steam, the story was poignant with a surprise ending. 😍
Chimera (Alina Popescu) – 2 stars. Like the Dingoman story, this was barely a threesome. Well written but too odd and creepy for me. 😳
Life By Even Numbers (Kay Ellis) – 4.5 stars. This was one of my favorites.💕 All the MCs were etched out, and there was a nice build-up to their eventual relationship. The romance was sweet and tender.❤️
Love in 1975 (L.V. Lloyd) – DNF. 😝Started skipping pages from the very beginning and then just skipped the story entirely. Boring! 🙄
The Proposal (Eddy LeFey) – 3 stars. Story was enjoyable and quite realistic. My issue was with some obvious grammatical mistakes which could have been edited out. Also the "little Malcolm" references to 🍆was a bit much!! 😬
Chance Encounters (Aimee Brissay) – 3.5 stars. This was one sizzling hot story..💘 or a lengthy sexual encounter 😉. Quite entertaining. 🔥🔥.
Exploring Heaven (Rian Durant) – 4.5 stars. Another favorite. 😍. It was funny, steamy and wonderfully romantic. The shifter angle took me by surprise but it was very cute💕

I love this anthology! Unlike the previous one (“Of Heaven and Hell”), I liked all the stories included in Three is Not a Crowd and found the balance between romance, pure sexual attraction, humor, sadness and even a bit of a horror really amazing. It was very impressive that with nine stories only, the reader could feel so many emotions and go through so many plots and twists! I read it in one go, really!

B.A.D. Boys by Lily Velden4 stars
This was a great start for the anthology – the story was funny and at the same time sexy! I especially loved what the “B.A.D. boys” turned to be related to – a really nice idea :-)

Me, Callum and Dingoman by Asta Idonea3 stars
Unfortunately, I couldn’t overcome the plot and like the story more. I was constantly thinking about all the famous Marvel super heroes and for me this was a huge distraction in the negative sense of the word. Besides, since this was supposed to be a live interview of a sort, it was a bit unrealistic how the story started and ended with only the MC speaking. I would have liked it better if I had the illusion that he was interrupted from time to time and asked questions. Even if the question was not there, it could have been as if the MC answered to one; this would have stirred the monologue up a bit.

Knowing How He Feels About You by Eric Gober - 5 stars
I feel like diving into a deep river every time I read something from this author. And it’s not only the rich vocabulary he uses but also the depth he manages to achieve in the narration. This story in particular had the most unexpected twist and even though I was a bit disappointed there would be nothing more added to the plot, I liked the unique way the story ended off.

Chimera by Alina Popescu4 stars
Since I’m a big fan of the Asian horror movies, I immediately correlated Alina’s story to some of them . Even though this is a commonplace motif, the author surprisingly well managed to keep my interest and I was eager to roll along with the story, despite already knowing where it was heading to. What I particularly liked about “Chimera” was the way the dreams of the MC were incorporated in the whole picture and how the mystery has been unraveled by them.

Life By Even Numbers by Kay Ellis5 stars
One of my two favorites in this anthology! The story was written well and I was able to get to know all three MCs with their typical traits. The relationship formed by the threesome was adorable. This was the only story in which an MC was subjected to abuse and rejection, therefore, the social environment felt very realistic.

Love in 1975 by L.V. Lloyd3.5 stars
I’m not a big fan of the f/m/m stories, though I liked this one overall. It was a daring challenge to go back in time when pregnancy tests are not yet commercialized, let alone f/m/m threesomes accepted. I was bothered a bit by the way the story has been written – the different scenes ended a tad abruptly at times (the end especially).

The Proposal by Eddy LeFey3 stars
This was the second story of Eddy LeFey I came across and unfortunately, I was already able to notice a very unpleasant reoccurring issue with this author’s way of writing – constant repetition of certain phrases/ideas/names. Here the problem was with “Little Malcolm” (or MC Malcolm’s penis), which the author referred to ten times. This penis was made to appear as a full participant in the story, which was somehow ridiculous for me. We all know very well which body parts men' mindset mostly stems from, so this could have been directly skipped instead of being emphasized on. The other thing that bothered me a lot was the mixture of the tenses in the narrative. Still, the plot was enough enthralling to make me never think of giving this story up.

Chance Encounters by Aimee Brissay3.5 stars
This was one of the hottest stories, so the readers eager for passionate moments including threesomes will love this one. What I missed in the story is a bit more background, so I know what happened to Daniel and what he and Michael were actually trying to overcome by visiting a sex-shop plus some more romance. I think that beside this there was nothing else wrong with the plot or with the narrative; this was just not my story.

Exploring Heaven by Rian Durant5 stars
This is my other favorite and I’m so glad the anthology ended exactly with it! It is not a secret that I prefer shifter stories but “Exploring Heaven” had so much more to offer, like really hot sex scenes; hilarious moments, which made me laugh out loud; there was even an authentic lovers’ quarrel and btw. this was the only one for the whole anthology at all. Mmm…

B.A.D. Boys by Lily Velden: 5 hearts-moderate
Wow what a start! This story was short but You know what they say…good things come in small packages! Lily really grabbed my attention form the first paragraph. Once the trio got in the elevator it was a bit predictable but it was so fun and sexy! There is also a sense of humor as well! I loved this story!

Me, Callum and Dingoman by Asta Idonea: 3 hearts Low heat
This one just didn’t hit me like the first. It is cute and fun. If you like super hero’s you will like it. There just wasn’t much to it for me though.

Knowing How He Feels About You by Eric Gober:5 hearts- moderate
Sean Chad and Kyle are squad mates. It did take me a bit to figure out they were cheerleaders not ball players. Though both Kyle and Sean are form money and Chad isn’t they have been best friends through college. Chad has had a secret crush on Kyle ever since they met. Sean is just the opposite he isn’t Chad’s type at all.
This one was longer and was like reading a novella. It was intriguing and interesting. I kept reading to see where the story was heading then a twist and man oh man I sure did not see that ending coming! I have never read anything by Eric Gober but I sure will be now!
.

Chimera by Alina Popescu: 5 hearts- low heat
David and Terry have known each other forever and have been together since college. David has begun having very vivid, strange dreams and is convince he had a twin. His parents are convinced he is crazy.
This is a strange story that is dark yet has a sweet undertone of romance. I loved Terry’s conviction to David. The writing is vivid and I would love more of this story!

Life By Even Numbers by Kay Ellis 4 hearts -low heat
Flynn is a very small effeminate looking man. He gets bullied still as an adult. He is 25 and reluctantly went to his birthday party some of his coworkers set up for him at a local bar but he keeps waiting for someone to tease him. He meets Riley one of his secret crushes form the office and is surprised when Riley asks him out.
Riley has a boyfriend and they have an arrangement. Though sleeping with Flynn is ok kissing him and taking him to their bed is not. Plus Riley feels the need to protect Flynn and wants more with him.
Mitch figured out that Riley broke the rules and worries that Flynn will take Riley until he meets him in person.
This was a very good story. I liked all three characters. Having a few quirks of my own I can really relate to Flynn. I loved Mitch’s protectiveness as well. Great story.
I will be looking for more form Kay Ellis!

Love in 1975 by L.V. Lloyd 3 hearts- Low Heat
This story is set in 1975. Warning a woman is involved. Richard meets Laura at a Party. They are both authors for the same publisher. He is immediate attracted to her though he feels a bit guilty since he is involved with Bill. Bill has not been coming around much lately and that gives him more and more time with Laura.
Bill realizes there is a problem and doesn’t want to lose Richard but doesn’t want to be with him and a woman.
I liked the story. It had a good plot and was fairly complete for a short story but for me it was just ok.

The Proposal by Eddy LeFey 3 hearts - low heat
Malcolm has been friends with Jack and Thomas for three years. Thomas and Jack like a third form time to time and that is how they met Malcolm who refused but became best friends with them. After yet another break up Thomas and Jack have a proposal for Malcom.
The story was ok there just wasn’t much to it other than Malcolm musing how he met the men and what he should do. I would have loved to read this in novella form it really had a lot of promise.

Chance Encounters by Aimee Brissay 4 explicit
Daniel and Michael are in a sex store. Daniel has issues and Michael is trying to help him past them. They are looking around and Daniel is curios and aroused by some of the toys. Michael hints he misses some as well. Enter the store manager Nick and shall I say t got very hot form there.
This story was good. It hinted at some stuff I would have loved to know more about such as what is wrong with Daniel and more about how they met and their relationship. I would definitely buy this book if it was a novella. I will be watching for Aimee Brissay!

Exploring Heaven by Rian Durant 5 explicit
What better way to end a book. This book came in fast and furious and goes out the same way! At first I had misgivings with this story since it appeared the dog was the one wth the sexy thoughts. Once it became clear this was a shifter story I fell in love. I will admit it is unlike most shifter books I have read before. So you get unique as well as extremely sexy with a touch of humor and romance as well. This was one of my favorite books in this collection. I hope you enjoy it as well.

My Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

B.A.D. Boys. The B.A.D. boys are trapped in an elevator. Unfiltered personalities come out to the fore. The behaviors are stress induced due to claustrophobia or just feeling plain scared. Of course, when the stress levels increase from 10 to 100 in a few seconds flat, there are only so many ways one can react. Well, B.A. and D. (yes, they stand for Brad, Aiden and Danny) realize either they go for it, or maybe die before enjoying life. What a way to go!

Me, Callum, & Dingoman is a paranormal with a twist. It involves, just as the title implies, three individuals but in the body of only two individuals. One of these, the third in the mix, is someone whose persona is quite unique and super. How handles this alter ego, now that is something to read about.

Knowing How He Feels About You is about three cheerleaders. They are friends first and foremost so enjoy the good life as only college students can. That is, until something breaks their humdrum flying and catching and feelings kept secret reveal themselves.

Chimera. Now, this is a strange tale. Is it Dissociative Identity Disorder, is it memories long thought forgotten resurfacing, or is it simply a matter of family keeping secrets from a child who survives? These are the questions that leave the reader guessing until the end. If you know where to spot the clues, then you will get the answer on the first go. If you glance around and come back, you’ll get lost in the maze of the uncharted human brain. Interesting. Compelling. Weirdly strange. Keeps you questioning until the end.

Life By Even Numbers. Oooh, what will you do when the eye is caught, the interest piqued and the unexpected love blooms. Is it cheeting? Is it sharing? Is it understanding one’s partner’s needs? When a third gets in the middle of a twosome, will it go result to splitsville or become a threesome? Questions rise and can leave the reader reeling. The answer, now that journey is strangely compelling. What would you do?

Love in 1975. What would you do, again, if your best friend and lover is bi and falls for a third who happens to be a woman? It is 1975 and things taboo were frowned and ostracized. How the three manage the relationship that seems one sided is an interesting look into throuples. Who is who and what is what?

The Proposal. One plus one equals two. Two plus one is not necessarily going to be three. If two ask one to join, will the third add or subtract? The process is easy to reach, the resulting answer, now that is interesting to read!

Chance Encounters. Oooh, this one is naughty and involves toys to the max that can send one to giggledome or bleaching their eyes and brain. Thing is, playing is different when it’s for keeps.
Exploring Heaven as a doggy knows it. Rottweilers are incredible creatures. This is a paranormal shifter story so the dogs with a personality gets kind of strangely weird and loyal, especially when the mate is found but the bond with the human refuses to lay down. Oooh, if only we can tell love to sit and stay.

Three is not a crowd when arranged and understood the right way. Written by the incredibly imaginative authors of Wayward Ink, this is entertainingly unique, strange, and somehow impossible to put down.

DNF somewhere in the middle. Not really romance. Not really erotica. Not really interesting. Mostly teasing. Not worth your time and money.

An anthology that is definitely interesting reading. Some stories are better than others, pretty typical of an anthology. Some real standouts in there - Eric Gober (who never disappoints), Lily Velden, Aimee Brissay, to name a few, have really good shorts in here. Well worth a read.

I liked Life By Even Numbers by Kay Ellis because it's very yaoi-like, big seme vs. petite, sensitive uke. B.A.D. Boys by Lily Velden and Me, Callum and Dingoman by Asta Idonea were okay. The rest was meh.

Some diverse and interesting interpretations of the idea of threesomes.

Disclaimer: Please note I have a story published in this anthology, but my review is based on the stories from the other authors.
