Identifies the signs that presage the Second Coming of Christ, discusses the meaning of the Book of Revelation, and tells how to get ready for the Final Judgement
Everyone's favorite nutty televangelist predicts the imminent end of the world, in 1983. Unintentionally funny for all the "biblical" prophecies van Impe gets wrong: nuclear war, a Soviet invasion of Israel, the common market evolving into a world government, VISA credit cards becoming mandatory IDs, a Russian oil shortage, hyperinflation, ect. What van Impe's close reading of Revelation failed to predict was the collapse of the Soviet Union and Communism, the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, the internet, growing nationalism, a steadily falling crime rate, ect. The object lesson for those who would write religious polemics like this, is not to be too specific. When you are proved wrong, you not only look foolish, you damage your credibility with all but the most gullible.
