(It should be noted that I did not read the edition above; I have the original 1913 printing which I could not find on Goodreads).

A very solid an introduction to the doctrine of union with Christ. It is very short and condensed, heavily relying on Scripture and quotes from intelligent theologians. There are one or two parts that leave one scratching one's head (e.g., when he distinguishes between an "inchoate justification" and a real justification which really requires more explanation than he sees fit to give in a section principally on union with Christ, but which I believe can fall within the bounds of Reformed orthodoxy; and when he seems to defend Evolution as consistent with union with Christ). But overall it gives many helpful metaphors, scriptural proofs, has a thoroughly biblical understanding of union and its place in the order of salvation (i.e., as logically antecedent to regeneration, conversion, justification, etc.), and is short enough to read within a few hours. Given its brevity, there are of course a multitude of facets and implications of the believer's union with Christ which Strong does not cover, and so a more in-depth study is recommended following this introduction.
