MY THOUGHTS: This is going in Luke's Christmas parcel. It is a beautifully illustrated delightful story about putting things away when you have finished with them.
Will it work? Who knows 🤣😂
THE AUTHOR: Beth Shoshan was born in Brighton. She never seemed destined to be a children's writer, after all she had failed English Composition. But everything changed when she was challenged by Meadowside to write the most inappropriate children's book imaginable - it should contain sweets, explosions and arcane English words. She did, and Smidge became an instant best-seller. Now with over 30 titles to her name, Beth has become one of the most successful children's authors of the past few years.
DISCLOSURE: I purchased my copy of Mess Monsters by Beth Shoshan, illustrated by Piers Harper, published by Albury Books. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own personal opinions.

A nice sturdy board book with good illustrations. The Mess Monsters love a messy room, but they break toys and ruin things so that the child who lives in the room decides to tidy up to keep them away. My two-year-old likes this one, but is a little confused by the fact that neither the child or the mother are ever pictured. I just tell him the mommy is downstairs making dinner. Also, the monsters (which are pictured as very friendly - not scary) are still peering out from under the bed even after the child cleans the room. I thought this might worry my son, but it doesn't.
Ok, so the moral of the story is if you don't clean your room, monsters will come and try to eat you. And parents should scare the bejeezus out of their children by reading them this book. I bought this for my friend's kids, and I am hoping it will not traumatize them for life. The pictures are really cool, though!
Basic Plot: Very messy monsters take over a small child's room.
This was a pretty funny book, and I really liked the illustrations. My son kept coming back to this board book long after he should have moved past board books, so it has some really good staying power.
This is the book I read to my children EVERY night for more than a year!!!! Best clearance find EVER!! It's rhymes and rhythm will surely keep your kids attention and if you read it with enthusiasm, you will have a blast sharing! Instant classic!
A rhyming book that would be perfect to get your kid to clean up their mess as otherwise the mess monsters will destroy their toys. Funny, rhythmic and sure to get a giggle from kids.
