I liked the book because of the aliens that came. The story is that they take over the parents of the kids. I couldn't put the book down.

My least favorite part of the book is when the parents get taken over by the aliens. It's weird to think of your parents getting taken over by an alien and they talk different. My favorite part of the book is when the aliens are being described because then I can picture what they look like.

I think that people who like science fiction would like this book. Boys would like this book more because of the alien descriptions.

Give a summary of the book- without giving away the ending.
It was a normal summer night in Harley Hills when a strange thing happened, a storm. But this wasn’t any regular storm that Nick and Jessie would face; this was a storm that would make them question everything they had known. The storm brought blinding light and thunderous sound but yet their parents never woke up. When Nick looked out of his window and saw a strange glow over one of the mountains he knew something was wrong but what was it? What had the storm done to everyone in the town?

I did not enjoy this book because I do not like reading Sci-Fi books. I enjoy reading about Historical events or Historical Fiction books.

I read this in fifth grade. The twists were painfully obvious, characters were in no way likable or unique, bland story line.

It was about a boy and his sister Jessie. There was very heavy rain and that's when the aliens reached Earth

A Solid, Rewarding, Suspenseful, No Frills Middle Grade Adventure

This book, (and the entire three book series), doesn't really break new ground in the alien-invasion genre, but what it does it does extremely well, with solid writing, appealing heroes, and a suspenseful, fast paced, action/adventure vibe. It feels a good deal like a really tightly constructed "Twilight Zone" piece, with an excellent balance of thoughtfulness, imagination, and threat.

The set up is basic. An alien craft blows into town one night and tunnels deep into a neighboring hill. Our heroes Nick and Jessie wake up at night to the bright light, explosions and deeply creepy atmospheric effects. The next morning their Mom and Dad, (and, indeed, all adults), are in full zombie mind control mode. What landed up there on the hill? What's the deal with Mom and Dad? And how do we protect ourselves and rescue the adults?

Now, that's a very basic summary. Here's the good part. Nick and Jessie are a brother and sister team who totally respect and support each other. No phony sibling angst here. They are a competent team and always have each other's back. That's so old-fashioned it's new again, and it is a very refreshing approach. For a bit of comic relief and in order to introduce some friction our heroes pick up a know-it-all sidekick kid from the neighborhood as their third teammate; he's as smart and resourceful as they are, except when he's being a juvenile knucklehead, and so our team is complete.

Now, this is an older series. It's been reissued a few times, and it looks like it first came out in the late 90's. This doesn't turn on computers or cell phones or pretend sci-fi high tech. There is a lot of riding around on bicycles. This tale belongs in the lurking, peering into tunnels, hearing weird sounds, seeing strange lights school of alien adventure, with some nice adult mind control thrown in to creep out the kids and to free them from adult supervision so they can do what needs to be done.

The upshot is that we have appealing characters, very solid, direct, but expressive and atmospheric writing, and a decent story that alternates between thoughtful moments and action scenes. These are smart, determined kids doing heroic stuff in the face of an alien invasion. How can that not be good?

Have you ever wondered what aliens would look like or would do to you or your parents? Then you should read Visitors Strange Invaders by Rodman Phillbrick. It’s a thrilling book that will have you thinking and even imagining what was really going on. This book is about two kids Nick and Jessie. It starts with Jessie waking up in the middle of the night and seeing lights in the sky over a mountain she gets scared so she runs to wake up her brother nick. He gets up to see what’s going on and he gets a little shook up about. Eventually they go back to bed. The next morning they went downstairs to tell their parents but they were not there , where could they be.

Two kids Nick and Jessie wake up in the middle of the night and see lights in the sky over the mountain they were pretty shook up they eventually went to bed the next morning they went downstairs to tell their parents but they were not there. Where could they be?

It’s sort of a mystery book as it said it was. It didn’t rely give much detail but it was still kind of interesting. An example is she seen lights over a mountain not very much detail right? This book is really good other than the detail part. It did have me thinking a lot and imagining what everything looked like or felt like. A part that really made me mad was that the story kind of like skipped from section to section didn’t really lead into another chapter. Another problem with the story is it didn’t fulfill my expectation on some parts for an example It started like in the dark wood and got darker and darker then we started hearing noises behind them the started running then the creatures were flying above them and then the ran out of the woods with scratches that kind of made me mad.

Overall this book was great I don’t read much but this book caught my eye. I didn’t want to stop reading it once I started. If you’re looking for a good mystery book than this one will be great. Oh and the ending will blow your mind!

This book was okay. I picked it out in one of my teachers selections of books, and I'm in high school, but this book was too easy to read. The story line was a bit drawn out. The reason I say it was okay is because "Strange Invaders" had a good concept. If it was better written I would've liked it more.

This is a standard throw away aliens story. Feels like the authors were given 30 minutes to write it and this is the best they could do under time pressure.
