This book is written as a Scripture-filled guidebook for Christians who want to improve their skills at soul winning. Dr. Rice writes in a very easy-to-read and practical manner, using numerous illustrations from his own life and ministry.
Or How to Succeed in Soul Winning without really trying. The anecdotes are repetitive and tiresome The advice is trite and unhelpful There is formula for finessing your "soul winning game". There is no system that can render you successful every time. God even mentions that entire cities will reject the Gospel. Obedience to preach the Gospel is the goal, not notches on a Bible for how many people you can get to pray w prayer. Successful soul winning is soul winning that is happening at all.
I wanted to read this because it was one of my father's books and I wanted to know more about his beliefs. A couple of things to keep in mind. Rice wrote this book over ten years so there is a great deal of repetition in the chapters. Illustrations are shared two or three times. Rice also fails in his interpretation of the verses in John 3 that says a man must be born of water and the spirit. He notes on at least two occasions that the water is the Word of God. Only someone in their circles would agree with this. The rest would say that there are two births, one physical and the other spiritual. Finally, be wary of any book that is unedited and published by the owner of the press. If someone had read this before it went to print the repetition might have been less. As it is there is not much positive to be said for the book.
