Alcoholics Anonymous has made famous its twelve steps to sobriety. In W aking Up Just in Time , Dr. Abraham J. Twerski shows how you can use the twelve steps to cope with any of life's difficulties, from dishonesty and intolerance of others to substance abuse. Dr. Twerski leads the way through AA's twelve steps toward a happier, more fulfilling life.
A few years ago, Dr. Twerski found that the Peanuts comics of Charles M. Shulz were helpful in his work with psychiatric patients. The humorous words and pictures in Peanuts gave patient and doctor a common ground for talking. Now Dr. Twerski again calls on Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and friends to help illustrate his points in their own inimitable way.
Abraham Joshua Twerski (Hebrew: אֲבְרָהָם יְהוֹשֻׁע טווערסקי) was an Israeli-American Hasidic rabbi, a scion of the Chernobyl Hasidic dynasty, and a psychiatrist specializing in substance abuse.

This book was a little difficult. However, thanks to the Snoopy's cartoon, I could enjoy reading this book. The content has some psychological idea. I liked one of the motto about characteristics of unmanageability, "If at first you don't succeed, quit!" It has no meaning to keep something if we do not succeed it. It is important to change our thinking and action soon. To read this book, I could understand something important at my life. -------------------------------------------------------------------- ② Homework for 11/19 -Time: 11/17= 70minutes (until page 57) -7 word summary: inventory, ism, difficulty, negative, reality, self-image, feedback -Discussion question Q: What do you think about yourself (self-image)? I could understand that it is important to examine ourselves. Finding our own faults is important, but it is more important to find storng point. If we think negative about ourselves, we cannot have confidence at ourselves. Finding strong points helps us to have confidence and encourage. It is necessary for getting job to examine ourselves. Our feeling should always be positive!
Not as irrelevant as one might think. Only read because of my newer affinity for the author on this subject matter. Spot on...if you comprehend or have experienced directly anything basic about addiction, the twelve-step process, and how we tend to think before we are able to be conscious of and then transform how we think for the better.
4.75. Overall, absolutely loved the book - it was engaging, short, and concise but also thought-provoking and I loved the Peanuts comics! Just sometimes I got a bit confused as to how it was set up and occasionally the wording on a particular topic, but overall I very much enjoyed it and highly recommend!
