A friend (MH) sent me this book in a box of books. There were several points along the way that I thought "have I read this book before?" My site(s) say no, so . . . I'm not sure if it's just a familiar plot (which does happen often with Love Inspired) or if I perhaps read it long enough ago that it didn't make the transition from the original site I reviewed on when that closed.
An older sister is thrust into sudden "parenthood" when the aunt who raised her (and was raising her siblings) passes away. (In a bit of a twist, the parents are still alive but appear to work for a mission overseas.)
The love interest is her high school boyfriend whom she fled from 10 or more years before (and in the meantime, he married, fathered a son, had his wife leave the two of them, presumably got divorced, and is now raising his son as a single parent.
I'm not sure how it makes sense that his son and her brother are close enough in age to be friends. Perhaps it is explained in the book--though because I kept feeling like I'd read it before, I ended up reading this book over a longer period of time than it normally takes me for a Love Inspired, so I'm sure I don't remember all the details of the plot.
Rachel is called home because her aunt who raised her died and she must go to take care of her teenage sister and little brother. Her parents are in the Amazon trying to find cures to diseases. She is not happy to leave her life in Europe to come back to Magnolia Blossom. Rachel faces many problems with her siblings and Michael who she was in love with and left also.
This novel was a bit tough to read in the beginning. The pain from past hurt was very evident between Rachel and Michael. The story gradually picked up speed as emotional shackles came off. It was a worthwhile read.
Michael and Rachel's story. I had mixed feelings reading this story especially when handing over your kids to their dad when he visits town. As for dreams not sure on those.
overall was pretty good. sister Amy was kind of bratty and the epilogue where the ex wife was a favored customer not too believeable but i would probably read it again and I would recommend it
Good read. I really enjoyed this story. Much more than the past few I have read, In this one, the problems that the characters had (and faced) seemed very real to me and the emotions that they all had were very real (AND appropriate) to the situation. I can actually recommend this one highly!!
This was a great book that told all about how God and love can get you through things. I really liked the way that it related to real life and how it showed oof two peoplel came together again. I really enjoyed this book.
This was another excellent book of Margaret Daley. I have over 20 of her books, and all but 3 are not read yet. I would highly recommend this book to people who love to read. It is a fantastic book to read.
