Dr. David Jeremiah, founder of Turning Point Radio and Television Ministries and senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church, felt God’s calling on his life at a very early age. Born February 13, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio, Dr. Jeremiah was raised in a family deeply committed to ministry. At the age of eleven, Dr. Jeremiah and his family moved to Dayton, Ohio where his father, Dr. James T. Jeremiah, was the Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and in 1953 became the President of Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio.

As Dr. Jeremiah was sensitive to God’s leading in his life, he followed in his father’s footsteps. In 1963, Dr. Jeremiah received a Bachelor of Arts from Cedarville College. In that same year, Dr. Jeremiah married his college sweetheart, Donna Thompson who also was attending Cedarville College as a business major. He went on to earn a Masters degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1967. He completed additional graduate work at Grace University and was granted the Doctor of Divinity degree from Cedarville College in 1981.

In 1969, Dr. Jeremiah began Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and developed a Christian school grades K through 12. In the 12 years he served as pastor, Blackhawk Baptist Church grew from 7 families to 1300 members. He also launched The Bible Hour television program.

Dr. Jeremiah heeded God’s call, and in 1981 he and his family moved to California where he became the senior pastor of Scott Memorial Baptist Church, now Shadow Mountain Community Church.

Shadow Mountain Community Church is one of the largest churches in San Diego County. It is also the home of Southern California Seminary and Christian Unified Schools.

As Dr. Jeremiah began his ministry at Shadow Mountain, he felt God’s calling to continue the broadcast ministry he started in Fort Wayne. In 1982, Turning Point Ministries became a reality.

Today, Turning Point's 30-minute radio program is heard nationally and internationally on over 1800 stations and translator/satellators. In recognition of Dr. Jeremiah’s commitment to teaching the Word of God, he received the Broadcaster of the Year Award in 1999 from the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), in August 2002, received the Award of Merit from the Western Chapter of National Religious Broadcasters for Excellence in Broadcasting and Faithfulness in Service, and in 2006 Turning Point received the Best Radio Teaching Program Award. Dr. Jeremiah has served on the Board of Directors for the NRB since 1996.

Turning Point launched a television program in 1982 in San Diego and went nationwide in 2000. Now seen around the world through cable and satellite technology, as well as on terrestrial stations all across the United States, conservative estimates suggest that close to 200 million homes around the world have access to Dr. Jeremiah's Bible teaching each week. Turning Point Television offers a half-hour Bible study message and a full hour worship service with the same great preaching. Carried on several national and international networks such as TBN, ION, and INSP, Turning Point Television has most recently been added to Middle East TV Network and BET, the Black Entertainment Network.

Dr. Jeremiah is a sought-after conference speaker for organizations around the country. He frequently speaks at Cedarville College, Dallas Theological Seminary, Moody Bible Institute, Billy Graham Training Center, Phil Waldrep’s Senior Adult Celebrations and numerous NFL, NBA and Baseball chapels.

Along with his speaking schedule around the country, Dr. Jeremiah also finds time to fulfill another passion in his life, writing. His books are always gripping and right to the point. Some of his books include Escape the Coming Night, The Power of Encouragement, What the Bible Says About Angels, Prayer The Great Adventure, which brought him The Gold Medallion Award in 1998, God In You, Gifts from God

Many times I've read the book of Revelation in the New Testament and wanted to have a better understanding of it. Different times at church we have studied it but still every time I read a book about it I found that I learn something I didn't know before. So when my Friend told me about this book I thought about reading it. Then when Book Bub notified me that Amazon was offering it to readers at an unbelievable price for the ebook version I knew it was the right time to buy it and read it.
What the book of Revelation shares with us is a look into the end of time. Dr David Jeremiah shares with readers his knowledge of this book . He has written it in an easy way to understand. He did answer some questions I had but I'm still confused on some of Revelation. This tells me that I may be reading this book again and also other books about revaluation.
If you are intrigued by Revaluation and have questions about it than Dr David Jeremiah's Escape the Coming Night could be what you're looking for and quite possibly a book you should consider reading.
I rated it 5 stars because it was very helpful to me and if I find a book on Revaluation that helps me understand it better than I did before I read it it's worthy of a high rating!

This is one of the best books on Bible prophecy I’ve read. Dr. David Jeremiah breaks down the book of Revelation in a way that makes it easier to understand. This book helps understand that the end times isn’t doom and gloom, but glorious hope in Jesus Christ. It does talk about what happens to those that reject Christ. Those are the only ones that should worry.

Dr. Jeremiah explores the book of Revelation in a practical way. I have previously done an in depth study of Revelation twice. There is no one who teaches on this topic as well as David Jeremiah, in my opinion. You can work through Revelation in your bible as you study through this book. Excellent for anyone wanting to understand more about end times. There’s plenty here to make readers take notice of what's happening in the world around them--and what the Bible says is to come. I will definitely read again, this is my first favorite of 2023.

This book is horrible. It is presented as a Bible study of the book of Revelation, but is really the author's sadistic fantasy of how sinners will be pjnished in the end. There is hardly any exegesis of the text and little support for how the author came to his views. It is just one more re-hash of dispensationalism, which no serious Bible scholar considers valid. Instead, check out Eugene Peterson, N.T. Wright, or Barbara Rossing, who are actual Bible scholars who can give an accurate interpretation.

This was a well written book that I enjoyed the whole way through. Very seldom do I find a book that I can't put down but this was one of them. I recommend this book to anyone wanting to take a deeper looking into biblical prophecy and what the book of Revelation has in store for both believers and non-believers. Don't be left behind!

Be ready! He is comingng soon!

I read the first edition of this book in 2001 and just as impacted this time. Revelation has always stirred and motivated me to live in obedience to Christ. Now, more so than ever. Share this book with everyone you know.

This book provides a good overview of the book of Revelation. A sequence of events that leads up to the return of Jesus Christ. The book describes the Antichrist, Armageddon, Tribulation, Great Tribulation, Judgement, Heaven etc.

Numbers and symbols are important in the Bible. The number 666 is the mark of the Beast (Antichrist). Seven is a perfect number in scripture. Seven Angels, Churches, Seven Candlesticks, Seven Crowns, Seven Eyes, Seven Heads, Seven Horns, Seven Lamps, Seven Seals, Seven Spirits, Seven Trumpets, etc. Seven stands for completeness. Numbers and symbols can be used as a secret code.

Here are some examples: "In his right hand he held seven stars" Revelation 1:16 (NIV), "In his right hand he held seven stars" Revelation 1:13 (NKJV), The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches." Revelation 1:20 (NIV) . "In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God." Revelation 4:5 (NIV) Seven is a sign of completion

Pastor Jeremiah said that Satan does not like it when we quote scripture. "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." Revelation 1:17-18 The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse are described in Escape the Night. "The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name." Revelation 13:1 Jesus Christ is the light at the end of the tunnel.

This was the second contemporary commentary on the Book of Revelation that I had read up to that point in my life. This was 1992. I was reading through the Bible annually and reading books like J. Vernon McGee's paperback commentaries through books of the Bible.

I made myself wait two years before touching the Book of Revelation. The first book I read was, "Approaching Hoofbeats," by Billy Graham. This was the second. And with these two under my belt, I was on a pretty solid foundation for the next nears 30 years of Bible study and teaching. It wasn't until 2013 that I actually did teach on the Book of Revelation. We spent 100 hours of weekly study for two years going verse by verse. And I credited this book with being one of several that was very helpful.

It has it's shortcomings. I disagree with some of the commentary. I dislike the Vatican-based new versions (as is the case with nearly all evangelical authors since I became a Christian, at least). And it's a little "light" for the mature Bible student.

But I have such fond memories of enjoying this as a babe in Christ. I devoured it and read it twice. So, overall, I still have to give it threes stars. But I do wonder... did he water down things in the new edition I've seen advertised? I may have to check that out sometime.

This book is non-fiction about the chapter of Revelation from the Bible. I had recently participated in a in depth Bible study about that chapter, so I was interested in reading this book. I found it written in an easy to understand style with many scripture references and modern day examples. Dr. David Jeremiah has written many books on Bible prophesy, and is a very credible minister. He is the founder of Turning Point Ministries. I felt he wrote a 30,000 foot view of this very difficult to understand part of the Bible. I was glad that I had familiarity with the content before hand. This made it easier to understand and follow.

The book is divided in four parts: Revelation: Key to the Future, The World Today: Ruined by Man, The World Tomorrow: Ruled by Satan, and The World Forever: Reclaimed by God. It is difficult to listen to what is going on in the world and not make some connections to "end times".

Revelation is the most neglected chapter of the Bible, but it has so much prophecy that should not be missed. If you desire a strong overview, this book would be a good one to read. I underlined and circled many parts of this book!

I initially bought this book to get some perspective and a better understanding of the book of Revelation. The book did do that, but I felt it also took some liberties to fill in the gaps.

First off, keep in mind. This book is coming from the perspective of, once saved always saved and that once you believe you cannot lose your salvation. So keep that in mind when reading this book.

Overall, the book is a good read, however, throughout the book, it is littered with incomplete thoughts. The author will be explaining something and then abruptly stop seemingly without completing the thought.

The book also has a lot of anecdotal stories. Some of them use the climate change hoax as an analogy. There is one part in the book where the author seemingly thinks Egypt and Africa are two separate countries when in fact, Egypt is a country within the continent of Africa.

Given all of its flaws, I still recommend this book to read. Just take a lot of the commentary with a grain of salt.

Here is a commentary on Revelation [as in, the last book of the Bible] that does NOT read like a commentary. Similar, I suppose, to Hal Lindsay's commentary done many years ago. As I am used to reading commentaries it was a little off-putting at the first but I quickly warmed up to it. Excellent volume, high view of Scripture and solid, sensible teaching.
If I have any issues with the book it is that he endorses, to some degree, the ever-popular but highly suspect view that the 7 churches represent the ages of Church history [basically impossible if the Bible teaching of the imminent return of Christ is true, which, it is]. That is a minor flaw in an otherwise exciting, exemplary book.
I realize Dr. Jeremiah is a popular speaker/writer/pastor but strangely enough this is only the second book of his I have read. I have been impressed.

CHIRP AUDIOBOOK

I enjoy listening to David Jeremiah on his daily television programs, and found his sermons on Revelation and end time prophecy to be fascinating… I purchased this audiobook to revisit the Bible study, in order to guide me into a deeper understanding of what’s happening today and where it’s leading us. Unfortunately, it’s narrated by someone else (Henry O. Arnold) and not David Jeremiah… and while he does a good job with the book, my preference would have been to listen to the author. I enjoy the audiobook because I’m able to listen to it as I travel, thereby making my journey more interesting and learning about the Word at the same time. Overall, I think it’s a great book and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT for anyone who loves Jesus and prophecy.

Well organized and very readable, this Christian treatment is more winsome than most in its tone while still making the urgency clear. This exploration may be way more material than I am thinking will hook a non-believer’s attention, but this has the kind of Pastoral concern I also want to incorporate: while being authoritative and readable. My Pocket Guide will be shorter than Jeremiah’s typical treatments, mine a stepping stone to further discovery.

A must-read for someone that needs to know about the end times!

This is a great book for a person who wants an explanation, in simple terms, of the antichrist, the false prophet, and the mark of the beast, etc. It's well written and very easy to understand. Unlike some that give vague explanations, this my favorite. I finished the book knowing exactly how it worked out for me. I believe you will too.

This book was very informational about the times that are forming and that will be! It is exciting for the Believer in Jesus Christ but it would scare those who are not His people. I really enjoyed reading this book and did not want to put it down. I was sorry that it also had to come to an end. I think that many should read this to prepare them for the future things that are to come. David Jeremiah is a great teacher and preacher and many should listen to what he has to share!

This is a really good book about the current events going on in the world today and how they play out in Bible prophecy. I can't give it 5 stars because I did find what should have been an obvious error. But overall the book is worthy of 4 stars. Were living in the end times now and the information that David Jeremiah shares in this book is very important.

Very helpful book

My bible study group was reading the new testament and arrived at the last book Revelation and became very confused. Instead of stopping we started to read Escape the coming night while also reading Revelation. This book helped to explain the last book in the bible.

My Take On Escape

I gave this 5 stars because of Dr. Jeremiah's uncanny ability to relate the truth of the scriptures to a person's everyday life. This is the first time I feel I've understood the prophesy and mystery of this book, and now my understanding of it will help me look forward to eternity in heaven.

Wonderful book filled with clear and concise revelations regarding the prophecy and the fulfillment and signs found in the Book of Revelation. Dr. Jeremiah is a prominent scholar on this book and the end of times prophecy regarding the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ as foretold in the scriptures of the Holy Bible.

I give this book 2 stars because there are a few things I liked. Reclaiming the rainbow, Rev. 10. Story about Beethoven. There are some others lists I thought were good. I do not agree with his millennial theory and his interpretation of Matt. 24 as it relates to Rev. David Jeremiah is a wonderful man and a great preacher, writer, and a powerful inspiration to Christ followers.

Well, I certainly enjoy Bible prophecy. Dr. Jeremiah explains the oft-overlooked book of Revelation. I truly enjoyed it, and found Dr. Jeremiah's writing style to be clear, without a lot of boring details; but yet it was explanatory.
