These insights will be a source of strength, comfort, and valuable information to assist you in your journey. In Life After Death, you will find comfort for a grieving heart. Topics covered in this powerful book
This book is what I imagine having a session with a Christian counselor would be like. The author covers a wide range of issues which typically occur among those who are grieving. The first part of the book particularly was helpful as the author stressed the unique manner everyone will face grief. I liked the author's abundant use of scripture to support his assertions and to provide comfort to the reader.
My only issue was the occasional anecdote peppered throughout each of the chapters. Some of them seemed to be on the level with the typical Facebook sentimental posts and seemed to be too mushy for this book. I wish the author had provided more personal examples, even if the names were withheld for confidentiality purposes.
Maybe because I have a very strong faith, I didn't find this book as helpful as I had expected. I knew most of what was mentioned and already rely on God to see me through all of my struggles.
An impactful book for all Christians, whether they’ve dealt with death or not. This book will prepare you to minister to those who have lost a loved one.
Very good book and great for most people that experience a loss in their life-especially for the new believers or "seekers."
For me, it didn't help me with my specific situation until I came to page 157. To quote, "People are often distraught when a loved one who dies gave no evidence or indications of having accepted Jesus. Instead of presuming the worst, we must realize that we don't necessarily know what a person did in (their) final moments or second of consciousness-this means there is hope!"
Thank you, Tony Cooke, for this brilliant book on a topic that is difficult to talk about.
If you or anyone you know has experienced the death of someone close to you, you (or they) need this book. I literally keep extra copies of it on hand, and I’ve given it or recommended it to countless people who have lost loved ones. In it, Tony gives us both natural and spiritual insights into the grieving process, from dealing with the shock and understanding the stages of grief, to what happens when we die and how to help someone else through the process. I know Tony personally, and these very teachings helped me through the death of my first husband at 37 years of age. I can tell you from experience – it helps. This is absolutely invaluable information and comfort for those who are grieving.
This book was useful to me in helping me beginning to understand the stages of grief and what people are going through who are grieving. A good resource to use in hopefully helping others as much as I can.
Such a great book to read. Provides peace when you are faced with a troubled time. Let's you see the light when feel you are walking through what seems to be a solitary darkness.
