Nice story arc collected here with Deathstroke interacting with much more of the DC Universe. Good art and story. Recommended

Marv Wolfman continues his fantastic run in the original Deathstroke series. I’m still disappointed that I missed it when the series originally ran back in the early 90’s, but it sure is great fun to be able to read the collected stories now. The one weak spot in this collection is the final chapter, the Deathstroke Annual from 1992. The art is just plain messy and the story drags on way too long.

Having not read volume 1, it’s possible that some context may be missing here for me to fully appreciate Wolfman’s storytelling. What is present, however, is a strong character driven set of stories following Deathstroke after he takes on a protégée and tries to evade capture. Having only been familiar with Deathstroke’s more villainous side a la Teen Titans growing up, I find it refreshing to see him more fleshed out here.

Deadpool is a better more interesting character. Deathstroke is a old man who spends most of the time complaining how much he does not want to do a job. For being so deadly he does not kill that often. The super heroes seem to always treat him with kid gloves. I am not sure where he gets rebooted into a better character a la Teen Titans main bad guy. But interesting to see his origins.

Deathstroke: The Terminator Vol 1
Collects: Deathstroke: The Terminator #10-13; Deathstroke: The Terminator Annual; Superman #68

(3.75⭐) Ok. Interesting. Bit too much text at times which takes attention away from the art. Great art shift for better more modern feel halfway through this volume.

This is the second volume and I feel a bit overwhelmed and lackluster. It might be that, to some extent, my knowledge regarding classic collection of comics is missing for me to fully grasp his background story like his sons' deaths and his abilities' origin.

great classic deathstrok.

So 90’s with charm. Great read. Love reading comics like this from the past, very much inspired by Rob Liefeld.

Deathstroke the Terminator Volume 2 continues the thrilling story of Slade Wilson, a deadly mercenary who takes on any job as long as the price is right. This volume collects issues #10-13 and Annual #1 of the original series and showcases the continuation of the character's development.

Marv Wolfman's writing is as sharp as ever, exploring the complex dynamics between Deathstroke and his family. The story follows Slade as he attempts to reconcile with his ex-wife Adeline, all while facing off against dangerous adversaries and his own inner demons.

The artwork by Steve Erwin is another highlight of this volume, bringing the action-packed story to life with its detailed and dynamic illustrations. The fight scenes are especially well-done, with each blow feeling impactful and intense.

While not the strongest volume in the series, Deathstroke the Terminator Volume 2 is still a solid read for fans of the character and the genre. It offers plenty of exciting action and character development but doesn't quite reach the heights of the best stories in the series. Overall, it's a slightly above average addition to the Deathstroke canon.
