Though this was a short story, it jumped quickly into the creepy doll atmosphere right away. The story revolves around a little girl's doll that goes on a murder spree. Within these short pages, the book will grab your attention and give you chills as you read about the doll that comes to life. Creepy read. Three stars for "spooky dolly".

Meet my dolly, Samantha. She's killer!

Feel the emotions of young Cynthia through her diary entries and get to know her old dolly. An intelligent, fast-paced, no holds barred read that takes no prisoners ... Just what we expect from William Cook. Bloody Good!

This horror story started off great and had me turning the page wanting to see what happened next.

Sadly, the ending fell very flat.

Delivers all the punches!

I love nothing more than a well written, descriptive, fast-paced short horror story that keeps me turning pages and William Cook did not disappoint! No spoilers here, although you'll probably figure it out for yourself. No typos, either, an added bonus to appreciate. The bonus story 'The Reader' is in my opinion even better than the first story and not to be missed. Williams has a wonderful way of pulling you in with his words and imagination. I can't wait to check out more of his work.

This was such a good read and only 17 pages! I'm shook. In this short horror story a young girl is being tormented by her childhood doll. This doll is committing horrific acts in her dreams and eventually the dreams come true. It's bleak, it's dark and it's absolutely terrifying! I also loved how this one was set up to read like a diary and each entry got darker as the story progressed.

good spooky fast read!!
the only reason it’s 4 instead of 5 is the inconsistencies with past and current tense.

Just finished reading "Dolly Did It: A Supernatural Horror Story", by William Cook. Sometimes there just aren't words, so I just say another great short story from this brilliant author.
When dreams become nightmares and the past refuses to die. . .
Members of Cynthia's family are dying one by one and she doesn't know how to stop it from happening. Cynthia records the macabre events in her journal as they occur and tries to come to terms with the fact that her old dolly, Samantha, has begun to haunt her dreams. Cynthia is on the cusp of becoming a young woman as her thirteenth birthday looms, but her past refuses to let her go as she battles her nightmares that foreshadow the death of her family members. Her old dolly, that her mother stored in the attic, has come out of the shadows and now inhabits Cynthia's frightening and prophetic dream-world. But are her nightmares merely products of her imagination, or are they something more than that? Something more real, more frightening, and more dangerous than any dream could ever be?

Creepy

The first thing I thought when I read the title was this is going to be creepy. Boy was I right. If you're into stories with a high creep factor....this will be right up your alley! Got me rethinking all my moms dolls!

Great read plus a good bonus story

Dolly did it. No one believed the girl, when she told them Dolly was alive. That was a mistake. Second story, about a man, who took to reading everything, and did nothing else.

Glad it was short because I couldn't put it down and I needed to go to work! Creepy book - dolls that are "alive" have always creeped me out. Will look for more books from this author.

Creepy

This story was rather creepy with this doll. I'm still not sure if the doll did the things or made the person do them.

A creepy read. I liked the way the author wrote it as a series of journal entries. I think it's one of those short stories that could have been longer and still had the same impact.

What an unsettling book this was. If you want something bizarre, this is the book for you. It's not overly scary but different than most books. It's not very long so give it a try.

So-so

A mediocre read...quick to read. The first story left me wanting more and the second story was really odd. In to something else...
