Blind: Killer Instincts
He recognizes the darkness in her. It’s in him, too.
Detective Jacob Payton knows the clock is ticking down. Someone is about to die, and his best suspect is also his only source of information. He’s known Emma Ration’s story for years—after all, a brutal serial killer left his mark on both their lives when they were still young. Meeting her is another experience altogether. She challenges his control and entices him in ways no other woman has.
But is she the killer? As the bodies pile up and their passion ignite, Jacob runs the risk of losing his control. Falling for Emma was never in his plan, but now that she’s part of his life he’s not about to give her up. Not even to the FBI on the trail of the very same killer.
Jacob must figure out if it’s Emma in danger, or himself. If he can’t uncover the identity of the copycat killer, it could be the end for both him and the woman who has fast become the center of his life.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Emma's father was the only surviving victim of the TBK serial killer and naturally, it forever changed him; she grew up with his temper and instability. Jacob's father was the cop that caught TBK and while his father was the hero, the dark weight of immersing yourself in that world clung to him. When Jacob, now a detective himself, starts getting letters from someone claiming to be the TBK, he wonders if his father caught the right man. Emma is used to people contacting her wanting to look at the letters the TBK sent her family and creepy individuals in general wanting to get as close as they can to the only surviving victim but when Jacob contacts her, she gets a different vibe from him. Jacob wants to compare his letters to Emma and get a read on her to make sure she is not involved but he knows she and her family aren't big fans of cops. Emma and Jacob must break through their walls of mistrust if they are going to survive this serial killer.
I need to start off saying that I, personally, felt a bit of an ick factor with the serial killer in this fictional romantic suspense story relating very closely to a real life one. The killer in this story is called TBK, which stands for Torture, Blind, and Kill, while the real life one was called BTK for Bind, Torture, and Kill. The killer's actions in this book are never treated in a cavalier way but I couldn't help feeling there was a certain degree of insensitivity by matching the name so closely to a serial killer who had real life victims. I don’t think I was able to achieve my usual level of objectivity and feel it should be noted that my rating more than likely reflects in a way this personal bias.
Blind is the first book in a new series called Killer Instincts, which I imagine will feature various heroes and heroines pitted against members of the Killer Club, which we are introduced in this story. The Killer Club looks to be an online club with members who are fascinated with serial killers and where some members not only fantasize following in their idol’s footsteps but actually do. The leader is called Black Widow and if a member doesn't follow her plans or doesn't act accordingly, she takes them out. The author set up a mysterious and dark club that introduced us to future villains.
The beginning of this book started off a little rough and I felt thrust into the story, we're given a very basic outline of our characters before they're thinking to themselves about how hot the other is. As this story only takes place over about two weeks, insta-love/attraction is at the forefront of Emma and Jacob's relationship. I know that Emma is supposed to be different from your average woman because she likes motocross and doesn't get close to people and Jacob is a workaholic detective who battles his bad temper; the problem was I was told these things but never felt them. I appreciated the author trying different things with her characters but I'm not sure she fully executed. Besides the insta-love/attraction I never felt anything between the couple, no passion or a true understanding of why they were together. Emma also had a few TSTL moments when she withheld information from Jacob that could have helped catch the TBK; she claimed trust issues but obviously it was added for extra conflict.
While Emma and Jacob's relationship moves very quickly, the killings and search for the TBK storyline is drawn out. Our villains motivations weren't justifiably clear and didn't reach the level of psychotic/sociopathic to chill the reader's blood and be chalked up to crazy scary. The overall story had a feeling of disjointedness, the romance/sexual parts and serial killings didn't quite mesh (if you're questioning if those two opposites ever could, Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard does this wonderfully). Secondary characters also just seemed to be fodder for the serial killer; we only get very basic introductions to them, which made it very hard to have any feelings when they were killed off (this works in visual slasher horror films but not so well in print). Also, for what important parts our hero and heroine's fathers played in the original TBK case, they weren't really incorporated into the story.
The concept for Blind is there but with a sense of disjointedness and too close for comfort similarities to a real life serial killer, I felt this story was just "ok". This is, however, a quick read, so if you're looking for something a little different and off the beaten path with serial killings nestled in-between sex scenes, you wouldn't waste your whole day on this one.

***** 4.5 "Torture, Blind, Kill" Stars *****
What a ride! A perfect mix of mystery, romance, and suspense.

Emma's grandparents were murdered by a serial killer known as TBK. He tortured, blinded, then killed. TBK destroyed her family, but Emma didn't let the past break her.
Years after the murders, Detective Payton received a letter that was similar to TBK's style. He arranged a meeting with Emma so that he could learn more about TBK. The attraction between them was inevitable. Although they looked incompatible on the outside, they were cut from the same cloth. TBK had also affected Payton's life because his father was the one that caught TBK.
So are these letters from TBK? Did the wrong person get caught years ago? Or is this a copycat?
This wasn't what I was expecting. Blind kept me on the edge of my seat, and I can't wait to read more from Sidney Bristol.

Blind has more of a mystery/thriller feel to it than I'm used to but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The blurb pulled me in and luckily the rest of the book kept me engrossed until the very end.
Emma has spent her life dedicated to researching the TBK Killer so when she meets up with Jacob she figures she's going to share her research and that'll be that. What she doesn't know is that Jacob's life was just as affected by the TBK Killer as hers was and he knows all about what she's been through. Unfortunately, Emma is wary of cops and as soon as she finds out that Jacob is a cop they hit a bit of a rough patch.
What happens when the TBKiller, a copy of the original TBK, starts murdering people in their town? Emma and Jacob start working together to find out who the copycat is before he gets to his end target... Emma.
I really enjoyed watching Emma and Jacob together. Although seemingly so different, they compliment each other really well. And I loved the fact that they could completely be themselves with each other... No hiding the darkness that they've lived with their whole lives.
Along with the budding romance and smoking hot sexy times, there's a whole lot of suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat and a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming. That being said, I'm definitely looking forward to more books in this series.

Emma Ration's father is the only surviver of the T.B.K. serial killer (Torture. Blind. Kill.). Watching the torture and murder's of both his parent's forever changed Emma's father. He was emotionally/mentally and physically abusive to those around him. In trying to understand what her father went through, Emma turned into the "pseudo" expert on all things TBK.
The past links Emma to Detective Jacob Payton, even though they have never met. Jacob's father was the cop that arrested the T.B.K. serial killer, so Jacob understands the lasting damage T.B.K. left in his wake. Now, Jacob is receiving letters from someone claiming to be T.B.K. and he is trying to determine whether someone is playing a sick joke or more guresome killings are just around the corner. In order to try to piece together the past and the present, he meets with Emma.
As the bodies begin to pile up and their relationship gets heated, Jacob and Emma work together to try to figure out who the copycat killer is.
Blind: Killer Instincts is the first in a new series following the Killing Club and those that hunt them down.

Detective Jacob Payton and Emma Ration share a past even though the two had never met. Emma's grandparents were victims of the TBK serial killer before her birth. Her father was the only living survivor of TBK's killing spree leaving him broken and giving Emma a tough life growing up. Jacob was the son of the detective that had brought TBK to justice.
The two meet when Jacob contacts Emma to view her research on TBK when he receives a letter that he thinks is from a copycat killer even though there hasn't been a victim yet. There is an immediate attraction between Jacob and Emma, unfortunately soon after meeting the murders begin.
Blind: Killer Instincts is classified as a romantic suspense story but seems to be more of an erotic suspense. Readers should be aware there is a lot of graphic sex scenes and violence in the book before picking it up. I'm fine with both and rather enjoyed the story but felt it could've dealt a bit more with the case and catching the killer.
Jacob and Emma were great together. Both strong characters that complimented each other well. Jacob had a darkness about him and Emma seemed to be his light. The other characters in the book could've used a bit more fleshing out. When the FBI is involved I felt I didn't get a good grasp of who was who at times. Amanda was also someone who seemed to just be a name on the page and could've used a bit more to the character to make a reader care.
Overall, a fast paced story that blended a romantic/erotic developing relationship with an intense page turning killer on the loose plot. Somewhat reminded of the Following when reading this book and would look forward to seeing this story continue.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

ARC REVIEW
It's no secret that I love Sidney Bristol, and this is exactly why, her romantic suspense, Blind is very much one of my favorites now. The story is creepy and gritty and scary how realistic it is in a way that this could happen. This book was suspenseful and it was like I was watching a thriller movie. Two people who are connected by horrific circumstances and tortured pasts. Two people brought together and find the connection is more than just the darkness inside them. This book is the start (I really hope she write more) of a something really creepy and exciting, a new series in a Criminal Minds/The Following style.
Years ago Oklahoma City was terrorized by a serial killer named TBK; Torture, Blind, Kill. The year before she was born, Emma Ration's father watched the mad man torture and kill his parents. The killer was caught and died in prison. Emma has spent her free time researching and digging up everything she fond about the serial killer who ruined her father's life. Jacob Payton is the son of the arresting officer and lead investigator of the TBK killer and now he is lead investigator of what looks like a copycat. In hopes of discovering something new Jacob contacts Emma in hopes of looking at what information she has found. Jacob immediately feels a connection to her, it wasn't just her beauty or her tattoos or even her take no shit give no shit attitude it was something deeper. Emma feels the attraction too, even after she learns that he is a cop and why he initially asked for her help she can't help but feel safe with him.
Emma may have just inadvertently attracted the attention of the copycat. He starts targeting people she knows people she has had contact with. The FBI gets called in a specific group of people who specialize in this kind of thing, Jacob welcomes the help he knows by himself he is over his head. But is Emma's connection coincidental or intentional the Behavioral Analysis Unit pin pointed Emma and even brought her in for questioning, but Jacob pulls himself off the case by admitting he is her alibi for the night of one of the murders. Knowing Emma won't accept any other help he plays her personal body guard. The copycat killer is so much more and is quickly accelerating and starting to act off the script. Emma, Jacob and the BAU dig deep into Emma's past to find out who would be behind these new string of murders targeting her.
Along with Emma and Jacob's story it touches in to the BAU and it's agents. Overall, this is a fantastic and thrilling and creepy read great for late nights when you can't sleep, cause you wont want to sleep during or after reading the book.

Blind is the first book in the Killer Instincts series and the first book I have read by Sidney Bristol.
Blind is you basic serial killer thriller as well as romance.
Jacob and Emma lust after each other, which in turns to love at the end of the book. I am not giving anything away with that clip.
The authors action scenes was right on with the graphic natural of a killer series. I will be honest this book felt like a romance novel more than a thriller. Even during the book I felt like the author didn't know what to do with the characters while others were out solving the case so they would have graphic sex. The book moved along at a great pace never leaving the reader bored. There were a lot of characters thrown at the reader but thankful they all were necessary to the book and series. I assume the FBI team will have their own stories or at least I hope to learn what was the dark past of Jade.
Nothing stood out making this series or book any different from the rest of the serial kill books or series I have read. Her writing and ability to pull the reader though the book never once leaving them lost set this book a part from others I have recently read.
The humor in the book felt odd almost like the author knew she needed to lighten the mood of the story but it never felt quite right.
Blind had twist and turns most readers will enjoy but for me they were expected. I will however pick up the next book in the series because I want to find out about Jades past.
There is graphic sex and violence throughout the book.

Where to start from? This book contained so many elements I liked. There was mystery, there was blood, an in-depth point of view of the killer, a Killer Club with many mysterious members I'd really like to know more about, a strong, independent heroine and a bad-ass, dark and broody hero.
The author's writing style was rather interesting and it helped the story flow easily. I liked the fact that there was some description of many of the characters, although the members of the Killer Club remained anonymous and mysterious. Considering the fact that there is coming a book featuring the brother of the main heroine and, also, the way the book concluded with the Epilogue, I believe - or, probably hope - that we will get more insight into this club and its intelligent and dark members.
The only objection I had during reading this book was the existence of too much romance. I'd like to have a more stressing and long finale, than so many of the romantic thoughts of the two heroes. But, that could possibly be just me and my lack of romantic nature. Someone a little more romantic would probably enjoy the whole procedure of falling in love between the two protagonists so much more.
All in all, I award to this book 4 stars, intending to find out more about this author's books and its mysterious killers and their clubs!

OK!! that was one intense RIDE!! and I LOVED IT!
What a strong and capable heroine Sidney Bristol was able to write in Emma Ration. So many things in her upbringing and past could have broken her and made her withdraw from life, instead she takes it by the horns and lives!! No apologies for who she is!
Jacob is strong, quiet and brooding and he’s immediately drawn to Emma and how her mere presence settles his tension and anger. A red-hot affair is inevitable for them but the timing is so wrong and there are forces at work that will undermine and try to drive them apart.
This read is fast-paced and intense and had me wondering until almost the very end who the bad guy was! I love that Sidney Bristol writes in alternating points of view. It’s a treat to be in both characters heads when they think about their relationship and where the storyline is headed.
Although this was a stand-alone read and I got my HEA there is so much to look forward to in the other strings that were left dangling in Blind! The Killer Club, the BAU team with it’s intriguing members and then there’s Travis… we did not meet him this time but he’s Emma’s half-brother and he was mentioned multiple times. The next story, Dangerous Attraction, is his!! Sidney Bristol loves her readers because she is not going to make us wait long… Part one of Travis’s story will be out next month and parts 2 and 3 will follow before the end of 2015! Lots to look forward to!

Sidney Bristol is a new author for me to read. I found Blind: Killer Instincts to be a good and scary book. The suspense reminded me of Kay Hooper’s Evil Series. This is mostly because the villain in Blind is extremely frightening so that even when the hero tries to stay on the alert he is still caught off guard. Once the killer starts it is hard to put down since I had to see how Jacob would catch him.
The chemistry between the two main characters Jacob and Emma is hot and instant. I liked that they admitted to themselves that it was instant lust not love but didn’t act on it. I also liked the bad girl teaming up with the good boy cop. In fact the character development is a strength of this novel.
Now I have found a new great suspense romantic writer, with the romance as robust as the suspense. The epilogue of Blind leaves you not exactly with a cliffhanger, more of a “what if.” I would easily buy the next book or the books concerning Emma’s brother, Travis. Just not books I would read alone at night but then I do scare easily.
4.5 Stars

Blind: Killer Instincts is my first book by Sidney Bristol and WOW, what a fantastic read! This book is well written with plenty of twists and turns. Emma and Jacob's story is a wonderful mixture of thriller, romance and erotica. Ms Bristol has given us great characters, humor, sizzle, action and suspense all in one book. I totally enjoyed this new (to me) author and look forward to reading more from her in the future. Blind is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I received a copy of this book from Net Galley for review purposes.

Emma & Jacob are drawn together while tracking down a copycat serial killer. The plot twists and turns and their romance sizzles! I really enjoyed this story & look forward to the rest in the series. If you are a fan of the TV show Criminal Minds, you will like this!

Impressively Scary!
This novel had me on the edge since the very beginning. The first meeting between the two main characters led the supsense for the moment it began till the moment it ended!
While not the first book I have read by Ms. Bristol, definitely the most twisted, thriller, romantic suspense.
Since the chaos began from the moment the novel started, there is little I can say without harming the reading for another reader. Suffice it to say, the author's words after finishing the book are best. Gritty, real people, who are somewhat broken, yet together they work.
Frankly, it's the realistic of this novel that kept me from doing anything else for a couple hours, except reading until the conclusion.
Well written, draws you in and holds you captured, ties your insides in knots, and even after the almost end, the epilogue ties you back up again! Still very real seven years after releasing!
Excellent thriller, romantic suspense.
Loved every heart clenching moment!

Homo pravissimus “Human nature is evil, and goodness is caused by intentional activity.” -- Zun Zi
“As human beings we have the most extraordinary capacity for evil. We can perpetrate some of the most horrendous atrocities.” -- Desmond Tutu
Plato, bless him, was wrong. No matter how intelligent he was. He said, “To prefer evil to good is not in human nature.” Possibly it was simply a blind spot. Or a “if wishes were horses” sort of thing. Because people, no matter who they are, or what they believe in, are balanced on a knife’s edge of savagery. Some more than others, of course. But for some? For some, there is no other choice but the darkness. Twisted, rotting souls, aching for the pleasure of blood and agony. Needing the death, the pain they bring to others. Then there are the soulless ones – the ones born with no conscience, no light. Those who live only for the game of death. A game.
Simply a game.
Emma know about the game. Her grandparents were pawns, many years ago, when the TBK Killer took their lives. As if “took their lives” could possibly portray the horror of their deaths. Torture. Blind. Kill. Only, the truly cruel part? They left her father alive. Her father, who never recovered. Who lives in hiding, drunk and brutal and broken. So, Emma tries to understand. She gathered all of the monster’s letters to his victims she could find. Created files. Notes. Timelines. She learned everything she could about the monster who destroyed her family. She isn’t educated, she likes big trucks and dirt bikes, and she has only a single friend. But she is holding it together, working as a mechanic and sculpting in left-over metal and junk parts. She is alive. Sort of.
Jacob. Jacob is different from Emma, but in many ways the same. His father was the cop who brought down Mitchell Land, the TBK Killer. Mitchell Land, who killed himself in prison. Jacob’s father was never the same after that case. Bitter, silent, he never recovered. His father treated Emma’s horribly – hounding the child until he broke from the pressure. Until Emma’s father collapsed under the weight of not only what he saw, but the brutality of the police who were so determined to catch the killer, they destroyed the child’s soul. So. Much. Pain.
Now, years later, Jacob is a cop himself. And one day, he receives a letter. Then another. Letters which, while not exactly the same, reflect those of the TBK Killer. When his politician lieutenant refuses to listen, blowing off the letters as the work of kids or a creep with a personal grudge and knowledge of Jacob’s history, Jacob turns to Emma, hoping her collection will help him to discover if what he thinks is true. There is another serial killer out there – and his next target is Jacob.
Now, the bodies are piling up. And all of them have a connection to Emma. The two of them will have to work together to save one another. And with the FBI shutting them out, can they protect one another from a monster? Oh, but there is more to it than that. A lot more. A type of sick savagery that is both horrific – and yet totally believable. A truth that surely has Plato rolling in his grave.
This is one twisted tale, delving into the darkest depths of what is so lightly called the ‘human soul.’ Or rather, the very fact that, realistically? There are a lot of people out there who simply don’t have what we so blithely call a soul. Homo sapiens so dark, so evil, that even giving them the name isn’t truly realistic.
Homo pravissimus.*
This is a dark and bloody tale, and totally, completely compelling. Well, I can say that with a proviso of sorts. Sidney Bristol is a romance author who happens to write “romantic suspense.” So, there is a lot of sex in the book. I found it disappointing, actually. I am fine with romantic suspense. I like it in fact. But it is when an author like Bristol, who is such an exceptional suspense writer, puts so much sex into a book that it overshadows the suspense, well, I am disappointed. Of course, others will find the sex part to be exactly why they like the book, so to each their own. Be that as it may, I am glad I was offered the opportunity to read the book.
I received Blind from the publisher in exchange for a realistic review. All thoughts are my own and are based upon personal literary tastes.

Title: Blind
Author: Sidney Bristol
Blind, a new romantic suspense book for fans of Criminal Minds and The Following, from New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Sidney Bristol.
THOUGHTS:
What a strong and capable heroine Sidney Bristol was able to write in Emma Ration. So many things in her upbringing and past could have broken her and made her withdraw from life, instead she takes it by the horns and lives!! No apologies for who she is!
Jacob is strong, quiet and brooding and he's immediately drawn to Emma and how her mere presence settles his tension and anger.
Sidney Bristol loves her readers because she is not going to make us wait long… Part one of Travis’s story will be out next month and parts 2 and 3 will follow before the end of 2015! Wow, what a fantastic read that was! This was my first book by Sidney Bristol, and I can guarantee you I will be devouring her backlist as soon as I can. Blind was filled with fast-paced suspense, thrilling moments, and best of all steamy romance that will keep you glued to the pages. The balance of all of it all was really quite perfect, and I found myself unable to put the book down start to finish. Yep that’s right, I read this baby in one sitting because it was just THAT good.
I’ve got to say, I just adored Jacob and Emma. Not only were they perfectly developed characters, but they also had such an intense connection you could feel it coming off the pages. Despite both being brought together by a shared past and both being very different people, you can see quite clearly that there is so much more going on between them even when they both try to resist it. The best part was that they could be themselves with one another, and boy did that translate well in the bedroom. *fans self* It was pretty darn hot! They’ve both come from so much darkness in their lives, but together they see a light they never thought possible just as a killer turns his focus on the two of them.
As a whole, Blind seamlessly weaves passion and suspense in a way that will keep a reader hooked. The plot is complex, and never once did I expect what was going to happen in the story. I really hope Sidney continues and makes this into a series, because if she continues on as strong as she came out with this one, it is going to be a series you won’t want to miss out on! I can’t highly recommend this one enough, guys, so I hope you’ll give it a try. And Sidney…I need that next book asap!

Calling all fans of Criminal Minds. You do not want to miss this book. I think I mentioned a while ago that I got to watch some of that amazing show this summer. I fell in love with it. It is on my “gotta binge watch from the beginning” list.
Then I read this book. Although the characters have different names and physical descriptions, it still had the feel of an episode of Criminal Minds. For some this might not work, but for me . . . I loved it. I am a fan.
I found the back-stories of the main characters fascinating. What a unique thing to connect them and bring them together. But then for them to actually fall for each other too . . . it made a quirky kind of sense. Although how they managed to find time to fall in love with all the murder and mayhem going on around them is a mystery all by itself. That is what makes good story telling.
There was an amazing mix of action, murder and romance. The characters were nicely developed and interesting. Even the self-serving LT. Love when the FBI came to town. We didn’t get to see a conference on a private jet, but loved how they all showed up and did their thing.
I didn’t necessarily like all of this team. We have one guy who is coming across as misogynistic. Leaves me wondering what that is all about and where the author may be going with it. Hopefully there will be more with this FBI BAU. (Behavioral Analysis Unit.) I think that is the direction we are going if the tease at the end of this one is any indication, though it sounds like it is also going to feature Rachel’s brother Travis. If it is anything like this one, it too will be a good read. I look forward to it regardless!
I received an ARC copy of this title for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated in any way for this review. All conclusions are my own opinions and responsibility.

Jacob's father once arrested an infamous serial killer who murdered Emma's grandparents. Through the years, Emma has methodically researched the TBK killer trying to understand the man who irrevocably altered her father's life and by default, hers. Jacob's father was also irreversibly changed. Both he and Emma were greatly effected by a now dead killer. When Jacob fears a copycat may be on the loose, he contacts Emma without revealing his connection to TBK. Their meeting is sort of an opposite attract type thing. Jacob is all buttoned down order while Emma is in your face motorcycles, blow torches, and tattoos. Though not a couple you would typically put together, chemistry is immediate. Though they don't hook up immediately between the sheets, they do end up working together investigating the copycat once Jacob realizes Emma will investigate on her own anyway. The more time they spend together, the more Jacob realizes Emma is what he really wants. He plans to keep her if he can manage to keep her safe from the killer who wants to claim her as his ultimate prize.
The killer in this story was certainly creepy. Emma was strong and always doing the unexpected. Jacob was constantly challenged by her, and their banter was amusing. Emma was really good for Jacob, and he was just what she never knew she needed. I enjoyed the story and the killer club concept. I'm interested to see what the next book in the series holds.
I received an ARC from Net Galley for review.

Blind looks like is Book #1 of the Killer Insticts Series by Sidney Bristol, and let me tell you the I never been so sure as to rate a book with a 5 Stars in one go! Is just MIND-BLOWING! WOW
While I tend to think that is ridiculous when a couple falls for each other from the begining of the story, some authors prove me wrong, as in this case. I just love it when the seem to find just the right line or mini plot or whatever you want to call it. Blind is Thrilling, with suspense, drama, action, plenty twists and turns, even humor and sizzling scenes. I Love the romance and how the relationship between Jacob and Emma developed throughout the story!
I love the rest of the characters on how well their rolls were played.
The may be many stories similiar to this one, but the uniqueness of Blind, is how absolutely well written this story is; how awesome did the characters, the settings and the combination of the mood were! It was just perfect!
This is my first book by Sidney Bristol and I can promise you that won't be the last! WOW, what a fabulous read! WHAT I LOVE MOST OF ALL IS THAT THIS IS A STAND-ALONE! NO CLIFFHANGER HERE!
I received an ARC from the publisher and Net-Galley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel. Remember, this is my personal opinion!
I highly recommend that you check out this Amazing Author and experience it for yourself!

I was gifted a copy of this book for review from Netgalley.
Wow! I really am blown away by the intensity found within the pages of this book. It is filled with suspense and intrigue. The storyline is comprised on the horrors that can be inflicted by a warped physique.
EmmA and her family have been plagued with horrors as well as injustice. She is a strong independent woman who lives with a zest for life. She will not he intimidated when those horrors come knocking on her door.
Jacob has a theory about a murderer and who else to go to other than the one person who has the most information. What he doesn't expect is to be drawn to her. Jacob knows there is more to the things going on around them and is determined to get to the answers he seeks.
This story is definitely not for the faint of heart. While it is full of steamy scenes it is also full of vivid and heinous acts as well. This was a book I found difficult to put down but I'm not going to lie I was well aware of every squeaky board in my house.

I have read a few books by Sidney Bristol before and when I got this ARC I was excited. Sometimes you just need something different.
Two people who do not know each other, have been brought together by their parent's past. Jacob Payton is a cop and is receiving letters from a killer who his father arrested...or is it someone else.
Emma Ration's family was destroyed by this killer. Her father has never been the same. She knows quite a bit about all the cases against TBK killer but when Payton comes to her the chemistry is instant. However he's a cop and couldn't understand why she is who she is. Or can he?
When the copy cat starts getting closer and closer to Emma she'll stop at nothing to figure out who it is, even go behind Jacob's back. Jacob will do anything to keep her safe. This killer seems to be targeting her and she just wont stay safe.
It's a good story and I really enjoyed it.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
So I was not sure I would like this book as it seemed it might be to dark. Boy was I wrong! I loved this book. I loved Emma the female lead. She was who she was. She didn't play games and just put herself out there. Jacob or detective Payton is the male lead. He has worked so hard to control so many aspects of his life that he does not know how to react to someone who just accepts him and wants him to be himself good or bad.
The suspense of the murder mystery sucked me right in. I have to say I was not even answering the phone I was so engrossed. The story evolves around events that happened to Jacobs and Emma's families. Those horrible things are now reoccurring around them and it gets to the point of who do you trust.
I loved this book and hope for more. In fact I called friends just to tell them how good it is and get it on their list to buy.

Fast paced action, complex storyline, and romance! Great Book!
This was a fantastic murder mystery with an intertwined romance. Actually I am understating when I say murder mystery. This was about a serial killer. The storyline was deliciously complex, with ties dating back decades. Emma's grandparents were the victims of a serial killer, and her father barely escaped with his life. Because of this family history, Emma has become an expert on the killer who plagued her family. Jacob seeks Emma out for her knowledge, but Jacob has secrets and demons of his own. Both are targets, both are in peril, and both have serious trust issues. They are also both strong personalities, but I was particularly impressed with Emma's tenacity and stubbornness. She was a great character. This was so good because there were a lot of surprises and plot twists, and the past and present figure prominently in the mystery. It was a great story.

Received a copy of the title in exchange for an honest review.
Emma's family was one of the families the TBK Killer tormented, and Emma has his letters -- all written with clippings, but signed by hand. As the killer died, she was allowed to keep the letters, but now she has people coming to her often to look at them. In her latest meeting, the last person she was expecting to sit with was gorgeous Jacob.
Jacob wasn't expecting Emma either, for that matter. He finds himself wanting to keep her close, and when the newest letters he's received start to feel more threatening, he wants to be sure Emma's not targeted.
I enjoyed their chemistry, and Ms. Bristol wrote the suspense extremely well. The only parts that I was truly bored with would have been the secondary parts -- even though they were important parts. When I read suspense, I don't want the bad guy's POV; I like to be kept in the dark.

Blind is an amazing blend of thriller, suspense, mystery with a bit of romance thrown in there that not only keeps you on the edge of your seat but has you jumping at every twist and turn. The characters were just fantastic. They were so well written that you aren't left with questions and wonderings about how they woulda/shoulda/coulda handled the situations that took place in the book. I never found myself thinking "Oh, I thought he/she would do this instead" because you KNEW who they were and never once doubted the reality of their actions. The pace of the book was perfect for the genre, it's like the author knew when you would need a breather before the next action started up. I don't know if this is part of a series to come but I would absolutely love to read more by Sidney Bristol in this genre, she's a natural crime, thriller writer in league with the best!

Blind is the first in a new series by Sidney Bristol. Blind is an intense romantic suspense mystery. Both Jacob and Emma have had their lives disrupted by a serial killer in their past and now there is a copycat out there determined to do it again. Jacob is a cop and the son of the cop that put away the original killer. Emma has been trying to understand the beast that killed her grandparents but left her dad alive but shattered. This book had me turning pages so fast. It is an incredible mind f**k. Watching Emma and Jacob fall for each other should have lightened it a bit but there was always the fear that the author would throw in a twist there too. Read this on with the lights on.
