A Dark Assortment - a review by Rosemary Kenny
Dark they may be, but sweet like chocolate they definitely aren't! Master of Mystery and Suspense, Michael Campling is a worthy successor to Roald Dahl whose Tales of the Unexpected also had a twist in the tail/tale and were fabulously varied in the same way, fast becoming a favourite in years gone by - I'm sure these will be just as successful for the modern generation (and some of us more 'mature' readers), if not more so!
Multiple murders, killers, a witch, a villain trapped by his own wickedness, a blind woman who regrets her trustfulness, futuristic disasters, a keep-fit fanatic who gets an unexpected comeuppance for his betrayal and many more - A Dark Assortment is, An Anthology of Suspense (The Short Horror Collection)'s title is almost as long as some of the stories, but that doesn't detract from the fact that though small in size, they pack an incredible punch.
A sure winner for Michael Campling and a must for your Horror/Fantasy/Thriller bookshelves. Get your copy today, (and make sure all the doors and windows are locked before you go to bed tonight!)
